The Korean Herald reports this week that sports entertainment programs have emerged as a major trend on Korean television, with famed sports legends and celebrities presenting the sports on the small screen.

Golf has become a recognizable force, dominating airtime for several months with big‐name golf stars and television celebrities taking to the links. Cable channel TV Chosun’s “Golf King” sparked public interest in golf‐ related variety shows in May. The program caught viewers’ attention with former LPGA champion Kim Mi‐ hyun and comedian Kim Gook‐jin, a widely known golf enthusiast.
Three TV broadcasters and a streaming platform ‐ ‐ JTBC, SBS, MBN and Tving ‐‐ have jumped on the bandwagon, launching “SeRiMoney Club” in June, “Team Up 072” in July, “Star Golf Big League” and “Here Come the Golf Gods” in August and “Grand Par” in November, respectively.

The popularity of golf shows is not likely to stop any time soon, as another tvN program, “Golfsquad,” is scheduled to tee off on Sunday.
A number of soccer‐ themed programs have been produced in the past, but they never stepped into the spotlight quite like the second season of JTBC’s “Soccer Adventure” or SBS’ “Kick a Goal.”
Thanks to the popularity of its previous season, which featured legendary sports icons and Olympic gold medalists playing together on a soccer team, “Soccer Adventure” kicked off the second season with a soccer test for the 15 sports stars in its new cast in August.

In regard to the golf programs, it is very cost effective because one day of shooting a four-hour round can lead to 4 episodes. And viewers like to see celebrities outside their comfort zone playing a sport like an average person. And despite all the bad shots, there is occasional drama when something unexpectedly good happens to a golfer.
Golf in Korea, especially celebrity golf, has been exploding since 2020. As international platforms like Netflix, Disney and Apple now are putting large budgets for k-dramas, local Korean networks and channels may pare back their offerings and use more variety/entertainment programs like celebrity golf or soccer since it is cost effective and trendy.

Ahh, so this explains the golf scenes in Hometown Cha3. I wondered about that and thought it was just the "old geezers in beards" aspect of slice-of-life dramas (note the slice).

The 5th episode of TV CHOSUN's 'Golf King 2', aired on November 15th, soared to 4.4% in the metropolitan area and 5.6% (based on Nielsen Korea), recording the highest viewership rating per minute, ranking first among all full-length channel programs aired at the same time.

It shows celebrity golf shows are very popular.

I said i'm gonna change things in 2021 - it was hard and for most part i couldn't do that at all. several days when i went hungry for more than 35hours. just a week ago it was 45 hours.
from 1 time a day to 2 times a day - +ve to -ve to +ve from November. yes. As December is approaching my hunger for fight is increasing.

Goal was casual talk - not online not for a virtual identities as virtual identities. talk with staff of this and that service isn't called talk. its called give and take.
But i did it talked casually with 3 different individuals who liked my financial views and got benefits from them. I surely not did any benefit of my own views - that's that weekly financial bulletin.
It was more like a work for me and i did god job.

One thing i did see that all these guys(why do we have so few of females) show not so good feelings towards others( and these others are too many. i could feel whataboutery from them too).
Well, are conservative when they want to have ace over others and modern when they want to have luxuries and all fun. What to say about such people. I put them into same category as facemasks and facemasks broadly covers k fandom too.

Because my interest in Korean cinema began almost a decade before I started watching K-drama, most of my favourite performers are middle-aged or beyond - Han Seok-kyu, Choi Min-shik, Jeon Do-yeon, Kim Hye-soo, etc, as well as members of Jang Jin's stock company like Jung Jae-young, Shin Ha-kyun and Ryu Seong-ryong. More recently I've become rather fond of Hong Sang-soo's lot, like Lee Seon-kyun, Yoo Joon-sang and Kwon Hae-hyo.

So I was just wondering: which ahjusshi can still make Beanies go a bit weak at the knees? Or to use the wonderful term coined by @mrsz6, Jung Jae-young is My Ahjuicy; who is yours?

Lee Seon Kyun! This is mainly because of his very natural and understated acting. But one cannot talk about LSK without mentioning his voice. I also like the way he walks. My Ajusshi made good use of his strut.

Korean cinema introduced me to K-drama and K-musical. That's why I'm continuously fangirling over film and stage actors.😂
At that time Han Seok-kyu was the IT guy, the Song Kang Ho of today. It's too bad he took an extensive break and lost the momentum of his film career.
Han Seok-kyu will always have a special place in my heart, and that goes for Lee Junki, whom I loved in "King and the Clown."

I'm looking forward to ROMANTIC DOCTOR KIM. I miss the Amazing Han Seok-kyu on my screen.

DR. ROMANTIC season 3, right? That would be great. There are reports from September out there that say the director of DR. ROMANTIC 1-2 Yoo In-sik will be the director for No. 3. However it looks like his next/current project is WEIRD LAWYER WOO YOUNG-WOO with Park Eun-bin.
Hopefully later next year (and after Yang Se-jong’s military discharge) we will get to see Han Seok-kyu and gang again.

Choi Min-soo does a lot of that mean and moody stuff, and he does it so well, but I wish people would give him a wider variety of roles. (or, 'oppa' would be more appropriate, considering our age level haha).
anyway, the reason are all what @wapz said: his understated (but addictive) acting, his voice, the way he walk, but ultimately I just love looking at him haha..
other ajushi that could make me weak (in a lesser degree than LSK) are: Ji Jin Hee and Yoo Ji Tae, their look are just my type hehe..but also JJH especially has earned brownie points for his turn in Designated Survivor, I was a proud fans :D

note: can we talk about our fave ajushi not only from kdrama? well of course we can :p then, for me the LSK from kdramaworld, is the Hidetoshi Nakajima in jdorama, they both surely my utmost faves!

I'm so superficial. At first, I suspected I was fangirling only age-inappropriate guys, but I've come to realise that I've spotted way loads of ahjuicys over the couple of years I've been watching dramas 😆

*Choi Min Soo (a real ahjuicy, he's 59 and had a great turn as Samchon/bodyguard in Extracurricular)

*Jang Hyuk (the man who can use a fan or sunglasses as a letal weapon - every time I see that world-weary look in his eyes I'm dead, gone, kaput)

*Hi Seung Hyun (I'll forever call him Chido because I first saw him in My Country, but he's been working in tons of stuff: Good Detective, Search:www, You are my Spring, etc)

*Lee Jung Jin (Evil Uncle in The King Eternal Monarch)

*Shin Dong Wook ( good-for-nothing second lead in My Unfamiliar Family) and Jang Seung Jo (Good Detective) - are they ahjuicys yet? They're 1982 liners...

Oh, where to start. These are the actors who weave irresistible magic and keep me glued to the screen:
Shin Ha-kyun
Lee Sun-kyun
Choi Min-soo
Choi Seung-woo
Jin Ji-hee
Cha Seung-won
Jang Jae-young
Choi Won-young
Park Hae-soo
Jung Woo-sung

In no particular order and not for identical reasons. Choi Min-soo in Extracurricular, but also as the bad guy, in Lawless Lawyer and in Warrior Baek Dong-soo, because while he can be an OTT wicked caricature, he can still be heartbreakingly tragic. And I'm a sucker for bad boys.

Currently Choi Won-young for all of his roles, especially Mystic Pop-Up Bar and Dr Prisoner, and at the moment in Reflection of You. It seems that he plays very similar bad guys, but he nuances his roles skilfully.

Shin Ha-kyun I need to see more of in movies. I discovered him in Beyond Evil, but I need to catch up with Sympathy for Mr Vengeance.

And there are more, like Lee Sang-yoon and Joo Ji-tae. It all began with Jung Wò-sung.

But of them all, like everyone else, Lee Sun-kyun has my heart.

I don’t check out Open Thread these days but glad to click and find this interesting thread.

Please let me first share my episode of meeting the real “My Ajusshi” in 2019. That is, bumping into Lee Seon-kyun in Myeongdong of all places during a Seoul holiday. I saw that familiar face who looked exactly like what’s on screen and was actually even better in his smart casual and relaxed self. He’s with his mate (a vairiety guy with his toddler in a pram). They were clearly enjoying the stroll as the whole street was as its busiest with stalls and stalls of food and clothes. I walked past him and thought how could I miss this one in a million chance. So, I went back asking if I could take a photo with him. Without verbally replying, he gave me an apologetic and pleading ‘no’ gesture - which was conveyed. A ‘no’ answer it is but done so nicely. That made me like him more because I could picture the crowd it might draw if he was “discovered” on that busy street.

Of the long list of ajusshi’s from Korea, I guess top on my list is Han Seok-kyu. His “Christmas in August” is among my top favorite movie. His role there is also so different from the top dog roles he plays most of the time. I always wonder what his career will be like if he didn’t take the hiatus and what it means for the next generation of big names. He was like the Song Kang-ho of his times, winning everything.

If LSK is Mr Velvet Voice, then Cho Seung-woo is the Voice of Honey. I love his rendition of anything. Just check out what you can find in YT. It’s in my bucket list to watch his musical live in Korea. Fingers crossed. He’s more a stage actor than a movie one in those days but hands up, those who have watched The Classics a zillion times.

I am also a big fan of another CSW, Cha Seung-won. I only discovered him in City Hall and then traced his movies back. A great comedian but he pretty much acts well in all kinds of roles.

For the Jang Jin crowd, Shin Ha-kyun is my favourite ahead of Jang Jae-young (sorry, @knewbie) and Park Hee-soon. I love in particular his playing neurotics. If you’ve seen Saving The Green Planet, you know he’s horned his skills long long time ago to play the lead in Brain or Beyond Evil.

I have to say, despite real life personality, Lee Byung-hun is a must see actor because his acting is at another level and he almost always picks good projects (which is in fact a critical aspect for your acting career). I recall watching A Bittersweet Life, thinking this guy is better than Chow Yun Fat despite me being a lifetime CYF fan.

Jang Hyuk is always a bias but he’s more from the drama crowd and Thank You turned me into a lifetime fan.

Lastly, the best best looking (as there are so many best looking) ajusshi is Jung Woo-sung. I was so awestruck when seeing his face in A Moment to Remember. Another one is Jo In-sung but he always looks so young, it’s a bit hard to coin him as ajusshi.

And yes to Ji Jin-Hee. He’s better as he gets older. I find him bland in Dae Jang Geum but so irresistible charming in Misty. I now practically watch everything he’s in - I Have A lover, Designated Survivor (which is an outstanding ensemble piece), Undercover and Move To Heaven.

Agree with so many of your points. Before A Bittersweet Life I didn't think Lee Byung-hun was all that great (though I liked him in JSA and Harmonium in My Memory). But damn he gave so much depth and complexity to that most cliched of characters, the killer who discovers his heart. Perhaps it has something to do with Kim Jee-woon being a more interesting director than John Woo, but Lee Byung-hun really was a revelation in that film.

I love Shin Ha-kyun almost as much as Jung Jae-young, and in the noughties SHK's association with Park Chan-wook and Jang Joon-hwan gave him an edge over JJY and his participation in Kang Woo-seok's less subtle films. But I get the feeling that SHK's film career has kind of dipped recently, while his dramas don't really make good use of his talents at all. (Personally I couldn't make it past ep1 of Brain, even though it has that other great ahjusshi actor Jung Jin-young.)

1

@knewbie What you said about Shin Ha-kyun is so true. Watching him doing a romcom is honestly a level down despite myself loving romcom. I am so glad he does Beyond Evil - the right vehicle to showcase his acting prowess and emotional depth.

I really enjoyed the first two episodes of tvN’sSECRET ROYAL INSPECTOR & JOY. Taecyeon and Kim Hye-yoon are delightful.
Ratings report preview (nationwide Nielsen):
Episode 1: 4.961%
Episode 2: 4.035%
All in all for cable I think those are pretty good ratings.

I did not watch the 2020/21 KBS’sROYAL SECRET AGENT. Its first two episodes’ ratings were 5.0-5.8% (the ratings were for 30 min. eps.).
It’s ratings increased throughout its run ending with a series average of 8%. The final episode had a rating of 14.0%.

It is probably natural that comparisons will be made between the two dramas. tvN is a cable network and KBS is a terrestrial network so a ratings competition might not be on a level playing field but it will be interesting to see how SRI&J performs in the ratings.

There were a lot of things that happened today. What I’m glad for is that the webinar I attended went well today. Also, I solved some problem my brother encountered together with my siblings and all got solved. That was the second good thing. I then told my sister that since I’ve done so good today, I had to treat myself a little. My sister and I so went to Starbucks to buy ourselves some beverages. As two noobs, we took a longgg time to order something. I pointed to the menu named “Caramel” on the “Frappucino” menu page and asked for one in a grande size because I thought this had to be caffeine-free (well, it said CARAMEL). I wanted something sweet to freshen up myself. Any kind of beverage from Starbucks here is expensive, so I rarely buy anything there (except for some beautiful tumblers). The first sip shocked me because I tasted coffee in it; I asked my sister to taste it and asked if she thought there was coffee in it and she did think so. We think that it was Caramel Frappuccino/Machiato or something along those lines. That was why my mother got to drink that for me. *cries*

My sister still teased me, “You really deserved a treat”. 😂

I once bought an iced latte from the store for my mom who drinks coffee and she also thought that it was so over-priced. 😳

It's gotten ridiculously overpriced, I totally agree. I finally ditched that expensive bad habit this year. I advise people to find healthier ways (e.g. as @spazmo advise, green tea, which is marvelous in the varieties they come) to cope with life. But I'm leaning toward ditching caffeine altogether more and more, and it did wonders for my anxiety in the past month. I realized, all my life it's been easier to rely on the brew and a dopamine hit that comes from buying the "stuff", instead of managing my mood proactively, so I'm trying to be more conscious about what I consume and what I buy. And that's def does not include Starbucks :)

Omo! Me too! The reason I don’t drink anything caffeinated is because it causes anxiety right away (for me, the effect is immediate). Coffee is also bad for your skin so if you’re into anti-aging that’s definitely another plus. I hope you find a caffeine-free life a merrier life like I do! (AND it saves you a lot of money that you can spend on other things).

I was going through my read list of earlier years, and guess what, I found I read two korean authors book, I read them way before I knew anything about kdramas or culture, and didn't even notice back then, Idk why it's pleasingly surprising for me! One was Pachinko by Min Jin Lee and other was The good son!
Now I wanna read more, please recommend if you know any good korean fiction! (As far as books are concerned I read everything under the sun, all genres, mystery ofc is fvrt.)
Tell you what, since I've started watching kdramas, my reading has reduced drastically, 🤭 (I'm 52books/year type person)

Yay, fellow reader! To be honest, I haven't been reading many novels lately because I fell into a webtoon/manga rabbit hole (tons of SK content on the Webtoon app, some got adapted to dramas too).
Still, looking back, I enjoyed very much Almond (it's YA literature), by Won-Pyung Sohn, and Please Look After Mother (family drama), by Kyung-Sook Shin. I also read a couple of books by Young-ha Kim: I hear your voice and I have the right to destroy myself. Both have a good setup, but they're kind of dark.
If you're into thrillers and sageuks, I liked a lot The silence of bones, and The Forest of Stolen Girls!

I think anything by Higashino Keigo is pretty fun. I also like Miyabe Miyuki very much, though most of her English-translated stuff is out of print, and only All She Was Worth and Puppet Master are available as e-books. (Btw All She Was Worth was made into a very good Korean movie called Helpless, starring the peerless Kim Min-hee and Our Ahjuicy himself Lee Seon-kyun.)

There's also Penance and Confessions from Minato Kanae. Both have have been filmed, but IMO the novels themselves are much more engrossing.

I'm not sure if Yoshida Shuichi's novels can be called thrillers. Both Parade and Villain involve murder, but much more than the usual thrillers they use the crimes to shine a light on the characters and the society they live in.

I'm taking note of All she was worth, puppet master, Penance and confession (Heard a lot about it), Parade & villian!
I Recently read 'Out' by Natsuo kirino!

I'm a big fan of Kirino's Out and its array of damaged female characters, including Anna the club hostess from China. Someone like Kuniko or even Yayoi might be annoying, but they are very real and not unworthy of sympathy. The one element I find very difficult to accept is the twisted "bond" between Masako and Satake. I guess if Yayoi's husband hadn't been such an arse, Satake wouldn't have gone back down that road. Nevertheless he is undoubtedly a very nasty and scary character, and I wish he didn't play such a central role in the story.

Thanks for the tips! I'm taking note of all four of them (and Natsuo Kirino), but I'm starting out by looking for something by Higashino Keigo and Yoshida Shuichi (thriller as social commentary is right up my alley). Last Japanese book I read (not a thriller at all) was "Convenience Store Woman" by Sayaka Murata. Liked it a lot. I filled it in my mind together with"Kim Ji-Young, born 1982"

Same thoughts!
Ending was a bit disappointing for me!
I was entralled by the female characters and bond between them. I rooted for Masako! And completely agrees with you on this whole S&M dark, violent and weird desire! (I loved this book a lot and really tried to digest and tried to somewhat justify and accept why this part was written, but Nah, I couldn't! Like come on Masako wasn't this week to fell for Stockholm syndrome!!

Happy weekend Beanies and keep Beaning On!

I heard something very pleasant at lunch with some relatives today. One of their children already had a few years of work experience at my huge company when I started there. Nevertheless, they were very supportive and understanding when I decided to put my mental health before work, and it is one of many reasons why I value my relationship with them. It turns out that this relative has left the workplace, and five colleagues followed soon after…because they could not get along with their boss. I never cackled this loudly in my life.😁

Now before you think ill of me, this person was capable enough to do their work and already found a much better job, so I am not laughing at their misfortune that worked out in the end. I am smug however, because my own boss (who I have to call again next week, yikes!😨) loves to make me believe it is all my fault, when actually many people leave workplaces because the (higher-up) people suck. It all makes sense now why they have non-stop recruiting fever at headquarters!🤣

Yes, happens all the time. Some places just have a terrible institutional culture - even if they hire nice people, the way things are done rewards toxic behaviour and people end up getting sick from working there... Glad that your relative found a way out!

😆 how I just chortled to hear this story! I bet that cackling felt REALLY REALLY GOOD to you! Enjoy it!
I see tons of articles about how many people are leaving their workplaces (a record 4.4 million in September) in the US, many due to toxic work situations. You’d think the companies would be working on fixing themselves instead of just carrying on about how there’s no one to hire, I hope they are.

Just watched the first episode of Red Sleeve. I LOVE. The lead child actors did a great job considering Park ji bin (who was of course amazing as yi san in 2007) left a strong impression. And lee se young in palace maid's clothes just feels right. kbs is traditionally sageuk king but when mbc gets it right, there's just this really watchable charm to their sageuks. And needless to say, lee deok hwa as yeongjo was *chef's kiss*.

Bo has asked me to give the cats and Cookie @mmmmm an update. Planning for his move to NZ has started. His mother has contacted a carrier, and discovered they charge per kilo of dog. He's embarrassed to admit he's 5 kilos over his desirable weight, so Spartan measures are called for in the next three weeks. He's a bit grumpy with me, but on a happier note, he's been meeting up with Hazel, the border collie, in the mornings. He chases the ball and she chases him, a mutually satisfying relationship, although he did get in a sly nip to her ear. 🐕 🐕 🐕

Hello Bo! *waves* Cookie wanted me to deliver her message to Bo (Oh, did I mention that Cookie is a "she"?) that she would like to congratulate him for the upcoming trip. She would, still, want Bo to behave and to not knock over the sheep as she thought fondly for the fluffy animal. She also wanted me to tell Bo that because of the words "Yuckie Cookie", she now decided to avoid eating "wurms" as after a while she thought they didn't really taste that good and made her have a foul-smell mouth. Lastly, she wanted Bo to taste the bitterness of what humans call "being on a diet" because that was no fun at all.

I'm afraid I can't make any promises tho. Wot r dogs 4 I ask, if they can't rustle up a sheep or 2, especially if *she* keeps me on reduced rations. Bitterness u say? Bitterness? The sheep will know the nip of bitterness. Oops. Forget everything I've just said, must be hangry. *growl of an empty tummy*. Sniffs to Cookie.

I wanted to give yall an update on my pop since I came here ranting and stressed and terrified when his health first took a turn.
So, here we go.
Wednesday night I drove up to MN (should be a 12 hour drive). I was lost in Illinois for several hours taking my 12 hour trip to a 15 hour trip. I hate farms. I hate wind turbines. They look like alien arms and when its rainy and foggy and your wandering unpaved roads that keep mysteriously leading to bridge that has been closed for 3000 years. I finally made it to my brothers house and saw my dad. He's ok. He's ok! For the last 6 months I have been....grieving him...I guess is the best way to say it. He was still alive but he wasnt the dad that I knew anymore. Except he still pretty much is. Hes still my own dad.
My dad, my brother and my nieces and nephew are all SO MEAN TO ME. I have no idea why I was worried about those people. But now that I feel that my dad is safe I feel free to move to where ever I want--before I was planning on moving to MN to help take care of my dad but they are fine and they are mean and why would I do that to myself?
I was supposed to visit with a friend and go to a comedy show but there was a snow storm coming so approximately 8 hours after I arrived I turned around and left. And drove right into every snow flurry, sleet, rainy ice mix from MN to OH. I left at 12 in the afternoon and made it home at 3:30.
Work is still a nightmare. My manager has come back but every promise he made to me about support for what all I did while he was gone was a lie. And now I have to have a meeting with hr (my second in one week) about my bad attitude in a meeting to resolve my "hostile working relationship" with a coworker who I dont like who adds extra work to my life because shes incompetent.
Kdrama-wise Ive been watching Yumi's Cells but Im not thrilled about a second season and thats been making the watch go slow and also, life has been so bad and stressful these last couple of weeks Ive been leaning hard into comfort stuff that I dont have to read, so lots of 90s sitcoms, gameshows, foodnetwork and house hunters. Basically things I can watch with a book in hand.
I hope things are going better for yall than they are for me!

gosh, that's a LOT!!! well, i'm glad you got to see your dad and you feel he's being taken care of.

wrt your mean relatives, let them stay away, you stay away - maybe later things will change, but... as they say "you can pick your friends..."

try to decompress and pamper yourself. with the holidays coming it always feels like we're supposed to RUSH. shop, rush, decorate, etc., etc., etc... i haven't had an xmas tree in several years, i've grown tired of the holiday marketing for all the holidays. it's all about the $$$....

books are nice. i have been using audiobooks to fall asleep to! problem is that, even tho i use the timer option, i don't know where i fell asleep. so i've been checking out audiobooks from the library of books i've already read! doesn't matter! and it helps me doze off and not have my head going over all the stresses that surround us.

give it a try, i think it might help you decompress! use one of your favorite books to listen to...

I absolutely cannot fall asleep to audiobooks! I love them too much! The second I realize I fall asleep Im wide awake trying to figure out where I left off and then its a viscious cycle! The second I realize Im getting tired, I turn it off and turn on The Great British Baking Show!I have seen each season thats been released in the US a dozen times. I just pick a season, flip it on and fall asleep to it and then when I wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, I watch a few minutes until I fall asleep again. Its soothing.
Holidays arent really stressful for me--especially this year since my dad is in MN so I dont have to worry about him being by himself or trying to find a way to get him to his siblings house for the holiday. It will probably just be me. Im trying to decide if I want to make the whole big dinner since its just me. Last year I did and froze half of everything since I have the exact same dinner for Christmas. But the whole thing just kind of made me sad and feel lonely. But the only problem is I really love the way that food tastes and most of it I only eat during the holiday! So, do I make the feast, feel sad and lonely and over eat or no? Decisions decisions!
I have a tiny little Christmas tree and I want a big huge one but I dont have a place to put a big huge tree. When I was a kid putting up the tree was a thing the whole family did together. My dad would turn his sports off for the evening my mom would lay on the living room couch and we would play The Jackson 5 Christmas album and whatever Christmas albums we had going. It would be the first time of the season that we cracked open the egg nog and we would feast on oranges and mixed nuts and it was fun. We had a string of lights that would play classic Christmas songs and I would lay beneath the tree listening to the songs and watching the lights dance. I want to get those lights for my tree but I think I'll feel sad trying to recreate that memory since its just me.
Do you know, I think the time I feel loneliest around the holidays is when I go back to work and my coworkers (all in long term relationships, with everyone in their families alive) tell stories about what they did for the holidays and how they are SO exasperated with this person or that person and they are smiling and laughing as they tell the tales and then they'll politely turn to me, "What about you, [isa]? What did you do for the holiday?" And its lonely to say well I sat on the couch like a slug. So I think Im lowkey embracing the $$$ part of holidays just so I have something to say! I really want an exercise bike. They say you can connect it to your oculus, or get on it with your oculus on and its just like riding a bike anywhere in the world. I think that would be really cool. Or an instapot. And when everyone is giggling and telling their stories I can pipe in with, "OH! On Christmas morning I took a leisurely bike ride through a country side in South Korea!" or something. But...

treat yourself to that exercise bike! i made bookmarks of bike rides along the west coast highway #1, and even one in japan - to (supposedly) watch while i'm on my trainer - bike on trainer in front room, rode it 3 times in a year, thinking if i move it out, i'll NEVER ride it.

so, i have the youtube videos bookmarked, but haven't tried watching it while "riding". but you have reminded me, so maybe tonight i'll get on it! if we feel better physically, we feel better emotionally/psychologically, then we can handle the stresses better, right?
*winks*

let's try to do that! no new year's resolutions, let's get on those bikes and just let the blood flow and get those endorphins rolling!
: )

I have just finished watching “Beyond Evil” and what a truly good series it was. The acting was superb, the interaction between the two male leads Yeo Jin-goo and Shin Ha-kyun was so close you could feel the connection the two had. The creepy killer was well played but I didn’t quite get who had Nam Sang-bae killed or why. It was good to see Cheon Ho-Jin playing a good guy for once, he usually plays one of the “baddies” in the shows I’ve seen him in.

I found the ending a disappointment - Inspector Han Juwon working with finding dementia patients …. I would have preferred to see him toughen up and work in a crime department.
