Omona, why so many shows to watch? I'm the type that also watches family (daily/weekend) dramas, BLs, etc; so I'm doomed.

In 2022-1 didn't we have like only 6 dramas airing for a while? Idk, I just remember it was calm.🥺
I'm going crazy. Why do we have premieres every week?
And why are all the shows literally my jam? I drop one just to add ten. And why do I rewatch so much? And why do I love old shows? Why why why.

I get these weird cravings, you know. Dramas cravings. And sometimes I they're too strong.
A few days ago I didn't sleep because I was too busy rewatching W. Today I didn't because I was busy starting another show. Now I'm tired as hell.

Someone kimchi-slap me, please.

Have a nice weekend beanies. 💚

🤣 ‘Someone kimchi-slap me, please.’ That image was so funny.
I bet there will be some getting dropped and others ending and there will be times where the tumbleweed is rolling so it will be much easier to pace yourself soon.

Tonight it’s Young Actors retreat so joyful times ❤️
Have a lovely sleep over the weekend if you can.

Some will be getting dropped
I'm laughing at this statement 😂. What happens when they're all your cup of tea even after you've dropped the ones you deemed not for you. The struggle is real please. I wonder how many I'll remember for What We're Watching 😩😂.

You should watch the real scene. No, you should search on YouTube "food slaps in kdramas" I think that's the name of the video. 😂

That's the problem the shows are so good I don't think I'm gonna drop any of them. Even Bad Prosecutor just started and I'm loving it. Jesus, what's gonna happen if I like Cheer Up and Love is for Suckers too? It's a good thing that I don't like PMY so I'm not watching Love for Contract (that's the name, right?).

Thanks! Tonight I'm gonna sleep like a baby. Hehe.

The currently running one is Three Siblings Bravely. There's the just concluded It's Beautiful Now. Gold Mask is a really good one to try, also just concluded.
If you want something quite older. I've only seen Ruby Ring and Glass Mask and they were good. This two are not weekend dramas, they're weekday family dramas.

Five Children/Five Enough (on Viki) is written by Jung Hyun Jung, who wrote the Romance series as well as Romance is a Bonus Book. She is a master of irony as humor; she patiently builds threads for this purpose.

Some scenes and characters satirize makjang dramas; one of the characters even eventually writes one and enjoys doing it.

Although there are 5 children involved, they are just one small step above being a MacGuffin.

I agree about Five Children and Its Beautiful Now (I haven't watched the finale tho), but my favorite is the daily drama Be My Dream Family.

I would also recommend Smile You, My Husband got a Family and Reply 88 (of course).

I'm enjoying the current daily (The Love in Your Eyes) and the weekender (3BSibilings) too.

Is there something in the water? I accidentally started a W rewatch this week, too, and stayed up way too late with it. I swear that show gets better every time I see it.

The only thing that's saving me from 24-hour screengazing is that too many of the current shows are legal dramas, and I have very little appetite for those no matter who's in them - Namgoong Min excepted.

I'll take a seaweed slap, please. I don't actually like kimchi but I'm afraid if I admit that out loud, all my streaming services will crash, my DB account will implode, and my OST playlist will become an endless loop of Carla Bruni's "Stand By Your Man."

Ps. I totally agree about W. That show is addictive. I rewatch it every year.
Actually this time, I'm rewatching it twice because I saw the final episode and then I played episode 1. LOL

So many! I have limited watching time owing the having small children and I’m really struggling to fit them all in. I’m sure earlier this year I was struggling to find ANYTHING to watch and now I’m spoilt for choice!

Byun Yo Han said something hilarious about winning that award.

Something like he'll do more popular works now instead of focusing more on acting lol. Which was a shady joke lol.

Oh ho ho - September - Beautiful September

Weather - October and talking about weather - woah.

September was fun - those thundering clouds - that continuous rain - lighting - not so typical September weather - heh.

Typhoon is always a marvelous beauty.

floods and flash flood - yeah. Action all around.

I was in trouble - but that doesn't mean i can't have fun over my own troubles as well as of others. keep things simple. fun is in everything.

Now everything is for December and January.

2022 - is truly a start of new world.

Those few were left have also gone. T

The only ones who are left are just common citizens and how many - less than 2000k or 3000k or 4000k - Japanese are around 65k-75k so we can add Chinese citizens too - even that doesn't make count go above 500k.

They are common man so not matter much. Leaders there are many - how much long these old leaders gonna live decides new world or not. Good if every leader and especially all political class as well as business class is below 45. Well they can be called young.

New age - new world - 2022 - quite good so far.

as usual - as expected - as it always happen in human world - 2nd half - later part of the year - high energy levels - high level activity. I had posted that we will see more action and here it is - simple stats - anyone who want to see it does see it.

protest season is always always up - fights or conflicts always go on. This is what keeps human world running. 2022 surely turned out to be a bit chaotic - mostly for natural reasons. manmade are too foolish to even talk about.

Few months back said that Europe is fun - I was expecting huge lead but wasn't expecting majority - hahaha sweden n italy. total fun. anyone with open eyes could have seen the outcome.

2023 2024 gonna be as much chaotic ! - naah - big political and sporting events are coming up so, nope. Both events mean huge huge money. Money tops everything.

That's why Inflation is so important and next weather season will decide the world economy till 2024 elections.

Normally it's the weekend that gives me drama burnout. Of which no matter how much, I watch 'em all. But, the shows on Wed-Thurs are just too good to miss. I have 4 Wed-Thurs dramas when it's not even the weekend. And they're all good. I haven't been this booked in a long time. I hope none of my upcoming watch-list is a Wednesday drama else I'm burnt again🤭🤭🤤... sweetly and willingly.

Wed-Thurs dramas are causing serious lack of sleep or else leaking over to the weekend. And that's not including the re-watch 🙄. So many dramas, so little time...

It's taking over the job of weekend dramas for the next 6-8 weeks and it's doing a very good job at the moment. I hope the weekend doesn't step up to the challenge because I just can't resist stories that both earn and worth it.

Tuesday a message showed up in my banking app thanking me for having been their customer for 42 years.

If they only knew.

I was actually their customer for much of the 1970s but was very dissatisfied so in 1980 when I got a new job and had to move, I switched to a new bank. As part of that process I went to the old bank, told them I wanted to close the account, and left with a check, thinking all was well. Later, statements came to my old address showing a negative balance because they had added some interest to the account after I "closed" it, and then dinged me for below minimum balance fees. Sigh.

When I told my father he thought it was funny because they had once done the same thing to him. He also offered to take care of it for me since he lived within walking distance of the old branch.

I only became the evil old bank's customer again because they bought the new bank several years later and I figured that if I changed banks again they'd just buy that one too.

😂😂😂 That happened to me in the 80s and 90s, too - I wonder if it's the same bank? I had an account with Bank of Evil but hated them, so I moved to a different bank. Bank of Evil bought that bank. When I bought a house, I deliberately avoided getting a mortgage loan from Bank of Evil; of course my mortgage was sold to them. I refinanced elsewhere, and guess what? The only thing that definitively got me away from them was paying off the loan. Of course Bank of Evil later became notorious for trying to foreclose on houses on which they did not hold a mortgage, so I may not be out of their clutches yet.

Is this what they call a Kdrama slump? I'm currently only watching Little women and The law café but I have no desire whatsoever to start all the seemingly amazing shows airing. Sigh
I feel like I need a really good drama to get back on my feet but nothing seems to catch my eye these days

Happy weekend Beanies and keep Beaning On!

It turns out that K-dramas work like some sort of drug or medicine that make everything else bearable. Last week I was grumping here about all the episodes I was behind on with no opportunity to watch because suddenly everything else had to be done first. This week I managed to regain my grip on my task list and schedule some K-drama time!☺️Not only did I catch up on last week over the weekend, but I also was able to live watch all the episodes in the evenings as a reward for decreasing the task list all day. It did wonders for my general mood this week. Now there is only the race against time to finish my What We Are Watching entry for tomorrow and hopefully I am able to post that again after nearly a month. It also serves as a nice reality check of the shows I am actually watching in order to know how many time slots are still available. I thought the September K-drama batch was large and then I checked October!🤣

I'm loving all the latest goth looks on Shin Sung-rok's Insta. Him in a moody horror show with his magnificent guyliner as a Halloween treat? I would die. And because I'm feeling greedy, let's also cast Lee Dong-wook (channeling his "Strangers from Hell" performance) and Jang Na-ra (in her "Daebak Real Estate" getup). Voilà! *swoon*

Hello, all! How is everyone?

It is suddenly cold outside, and I was reminded that it was the same sort of weather when I first joined Dramabeans, lol.

Why are there suddenly so many new dramas to watch? I almost never watch things as they air, but I’m watching five (!) current dramas right now, and making myself a bit nuts in the process.

Well yes lots of stuff on air I’m loving love in contract, I just finished if you wish upon me, and little women will finish this weekend and I’m scared to start anything else but I’m totally loving golden spoon the most. Plus I like watching the old stuff. All the new drama releases to keep up with start to feel like doing drugs and sometimes they’re bad drugs.

So many dramas airing at the same time I need to get selective about what I watch. Looking for something "not dumb" and considering Bad Prosecutor/Little Women or Golden Spoon for the spot.
And something lighter, considering Cheer Up/Gaus for the spot, in addition to One Dollar which I'm already starting but might delay if something better comes up.
And for the romance spot, I'm considering between Seasons of blossom/Love in contract/Love for suckers.
Let me know if you have any among those you want to recommend, or any drama that shouldn't be out of my radar.

So far Love is for Suckers seems to be 'not dumb,' light, and romantic. Love in Contract is a weird mix of light and dark - it's working for me so far.

Mental Coach Jegal is different from the ones you list but I would add it to your list of consideration. It an easy watch. Blind is also "not dumb"

Cheer up is not light it has Scooby doo mystery elements: It seem scary but you wonder if by the end someone will be saying ‘and I would have got away with it if it wasn’t for those pesky kids’

Seasons of blossom is pure romance with bitter sweet element Love is for suckers is romance with adult comedy elements
Love in contract is like a gym work out you have to put in the effort to get the results.

Hi Beenies! Here's what I have going on:
1) Still very sad that ending totally sucked to Fairy and Devil. Could have been so much better.
2) Finishing up Little Women. Thought it was just ok.
3) Halfway through Meteor Garden - very fun comparing it to BOF. There are things I like about each of them.
4) Started The Untamed - because always needs some Xianxia show!
5) Bummed that Bad Prosecutor is not on Netflix.
6) Also started Snowdrop - had to stop midway 1st episode because I didn't understand what was going on - I listened to a podcast, so will now be able to pick back up.
Hope you all have a great weekend - I have 3 day weekend with Monday being a holiday for Indigenous people/columbus day.
