I didn't pay attention to the TV Networks until the day I started to note it down in one of my lists.
I see that many of my favorites were broadcasted on KBS and tvN.

@anne18 Jewel in the palace is one I have not watched yet. It is older than Queen Seon Deok (2009).

3

@IsaGC Jewel in the Palace is a very old one but so worth it! I'm a big fan of LYA, and she's fantastic as Jang-Geum. When you're in the mood for an older sageuk with depth, I highly recommend it.

5

If you can't find it anywhere, I have the DVD set if you want to borrow.

It's on Kocowa.com if you use that streaming service, which I highly recommend.

Frankly, for it being from 2006, I'm not mad about the quality! I watched plenty of super low-quality files of dramas back before legal streaming became a thing, so I'm grateful just to have the option of higher-quality versions nowadays!

Oh, his character drove me absolutely bonkers in the beginning, to the point where I had to stop watching when I first tried the show, lol! Not sure where you are but he gets much, much better after episode 10 or so if I remember correctly. I started enjoying it way more than I should have after that. I have a very strange fondness for that drama despite all of the bad things about it, lol. He and Eugene are super cute.

Oh, and regarding broadcasters, I used to take a lot of stock in them and had favorites (tvN and KBS, mainly) but learned that they actually have absolutely no bearing on how much I enjoy a drama, lol. With the exception of OCN which is very much dedicated to crime shows and the like, all of the channels and streaming services have a real variety to offer. Sometimes they really surprise me, like KBS with Into the Ring and it's completely unique cinematography, tone, and overall style. I always appreciate when productions try something a little different, even if it doesn't work out (although in Into the Ring's case it definitely DID).

I enjoyed Into the ring. And it is strange because I'm not a fan of politics plots.
But the script and actings were really good and it was very funny too. In the end, it is a nice rom-com.

I've always been a JTBC fangirl since launched and that hasn't changed.
Most of my favorites are from this network, and bonus points for treating their in-house production employees well. That's mostly because Ahn Pam Seok a wonderful human being.

I think JTBC produces more this 'quality' dramas. TVN tends to cater viewers' interest thus produce more trendy dramas. Netflix tries to catch up with it but so trying so hard to please international viewers by being 'edgy' (still pondering about 'Somebody'). Tv chosun is home for the makjangs. OCN for the crime and police procedural. KBS sometimes does producd good weekenders. SBS used to be the one that produces better dramas than the other two before private channels join (something happen to its drama division?). MBC is my least favorite, it likely plays safe, so snooze fest. Then there're Channel A, TVing, ENA, Disney +, Couppang play, Apple TV, etc. I guess, as drama fan, the more, the better.

In preparation for some upcoming dramas starring Kim Dong-wook, I dived into watching bits of You Are My Spring. And I discovered something - Kang Hoon was there starred as Seo Hyun-Jin's younger brother. I freaking didn't recognize him properly there, I didn't even find his face familiar during my 3rd watch of YAMS. But after watching Little Women and now TSRG, I suddenly recognized his face during my snippets watching 2 days ago. I'm very surprised I didn't place the face during The Red Sleeve.

There is a scene where he and SHJ are sitting in the car outside their mother's house, pouring out their suppressed emotions for the first time... It is one of the bestest written, directed, and acted scenes I have ever seen. I didn't even love YAMS that much but that scene has been burned in my memory.

Chosen Ilbo reported scammers who handed out drug-laced soft drinks outside crammers in Daechi-dong in southern Seoul had planned the crime for at least six months. Each bottle contained 3.3 times more methamphetamines than a typical single dose.
According to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, a total of 10 suspects have now been implicated in the scam and seven were arrested. A red notice has been issued by Interpol for two members of a phishing ring and one associate of a drug-smuggling gang. Police said the plan was to blackmail children's parents for W100 million ($76k US) with the threat of drug tests once the kids had drunk the beverages, which they were handed as part of a fake soft-drink promotion. One 25-year-old suspect identified by his surname Gil, who prepared and distributed the drug-laced beverages, mixed methamphetamines into milk. Each drink contained 0.1 gram of methamphetamines, which is 3.3 times more than a typical hit and enough to cause physical damage including memory loss. So far, nine victims have been identified, including one parent. One youngster drank a substantial amount and suffered from side effects for a week.

I fail to see the criminal logic of dangerously drugging school kids then attempting to blackmail their parents. There was no reason to pay - - - if not paid would the scammers contact the authorities to squeal on kids they drugged? No. Instead, parents told police someone was drugging their kids. What a strange story.

Awful! Drug-laced soft drinks handed out to kids with the backwards thinking of blackmailing the parents or the drug dealers would turn the parents in for drugging their own children? I don’t get that either…but dangerous and scary.

this place is boring for being too secure - shaking of ground isn't much of concern unless it is above 5 - no floods or no rain for years causing water shortage - the only you can expect is big thunderstorm.

This time i'm expecting big air event in Mid may to june - for that need good quality heat wave.

If you're serious about learning Korean, the New York Korea Society has a great language program, which I highly recommend. 3

@Britney I tried duolingo and a couple other free services, but I actually found too many errors in some of the lessons. From my personal experience, I've found those are good to get introduced to a language, but the popular services like Berlitz and Pimsleur for self-study are really more effective if you can't take a class to really learn a language properly. Your lack of retention may have something to do with that as well.

I wrote a few comments above about a scene that has been burned in my memory. That reminded me of other scenes that have similarly hit me in the guts full force over the years:

One is a scene in Wild Romance, when SPOILER AHEAD the fl accuses the ml of having an affair with his best friend's wife, he literally explodes trying to kill her from sheer anger. The fl is a skilled judoka and instinctively fights back throwing him down over and over, and he comes for her again every time... The scene is PERFECT in every sense. His anger, her shock at her mistake, her instinctive fight back although she is feeling ashamed, the later result in their relationship. Simply perfect.

Another one is in Go Back Couple in one of rhe later episodes, when the fl witnesses a random man breaking down from exhaustion and the unfairness of his life and his job. She is shocked when she suddenly connects his suffering to what her husband must have been going through but never let on to her. Very very well-acted and satisfying scene especially because her husband is one of my most favorite characters ever.

The scene in the baseball booths, when Seo Yul sees and falls for Yoon Ha Kyung for the first time, in Chief Kim. Perfect mood and acting.

Lookout, when she talks to him in the confession booth thinking he is the priest, and the car chase later in the show. The whole show is among my top 5 shows ever, but these 2 scenes get me every single time, even if I only think about them.

Accidental Couple, in the elevator when the ml thakes the fl's hand from the sml. The courage. The subtle anger. Hwang Jung Min is such a great actor.

Partner. When she sits down crying heartbroken on her old teacher's house stairs. And then stands up determined. Great scene.

The King 2 Hearts. His password. Telling his brother's photo: happy now? Heart. Broken.

Miss Korea, Lee Sung Min being hit by the tugs, embarrassed that Song Sun Mi is witnessing it all.

Jealousy Incarnate, when he calls her after getting his diagnosis, and she rejects his call because she is in the middle of a crisis herself. I know I'm in a minority that looks at Lee Hwashin from a completely different perspective from most beanies here, but seriously, that scene hits me with the force of a speeding Truck of Doom every time.

You Are My Spring--in the last episode when Chae Jun is speaking to his therapist, and he is showing real sorrow at how his machinations led to his brother's suicide, and how he'll never have the chance to apologize. I get choked up just thinking of this scene.

That scene in Go Back Couple hit me crazy.
Another poignant scene in Go Back Couple is in episode 11 - where the ml almost slips and addresses the FL's mom as Mother-in-law. MIL caught on the slip and gave him a treat worthy of a son-in-law. The extra piece of chicken on his plate and the piece of meat she placed on his spoon after he scooped some rice from his plate was motherly. It was well done, and it packed in all the emotions.

It hits more when we already knew he was unable to say goodbye to his MIL and his work prevented he and the FL from having lasts moments with FLs mom. That regret, the unsaid words, the beating of one's self, and the love you knew existed nonetheless all came in as one.

YES! Every scene between Bando and his MIL was incredibly poignant.

Actually I really really dislike the plot point of them not being with her mother at the end. It was completely forced and contrived. She wasn't in another city. Jinjoo could go to her by herself any time instead of crying every day at home. He wasn't at work the last day. They made a forced plot of him going to the police station because of those boys. Everything was forced. Like the writers first said that the mother's death was the source of hurt between them, but hadn't thought it through really. The ultimate explanation always makes me angry and hate Jinjoo. I still love the show. But don't like Jinjoo. She is childish, selfish, and out of touch with the reality of life outside her home. But well, I even know people like her around myaelf so I can't say she is unbelievable. I just don't like her and can't accept her anger towards Bando. This is actually the reason that the scene of the random man breaking down hits me so hard, because I really really wanted someone to slap Jinjoo, and that scene was like a virtual slap driving in the point that she was actively trying to ignore.

I was wondering if anyone knew what determined the number of episodes these days in a conventional, non-weekender kdrama? I'm not talking about open ended or entirely episodic shows, which I know can go on for years, as they have in the U.S. I also understand that just like U.S. t.v., kdramas used to be filmed as they went, allowing modifications depending on popularity and public response. (I'm just as glad that era is over, since a lot of shows I tend to like get low ratings in Korea and would not receive their full run.)

But what determines the length today--streaming or network demands, based on anticipated ratings or shows in the pipeline? Creative imperatives, based on what the writer/director believes is necessary? I notice Bora, Deborah!, a show I'm watching and kind of enjoying, is 14 episodes--what's going on there?

I am one of those who doesn't mind a 16 episode show, but who prefers the increasingly frequent 12 episode run, which for me strikes a good balance between developing the story and characters and not engaging in a great deal of repetition and filler. Its true that there are some 12 episode shows--Business Proposal leaps to mind--that end unsatisfactorily. But that's not because it needed 4 more episodes.

I will be controversial here, and say I have yet to see a 20 episode series that justifies the extra 4 hours with really essential narrative or mood-setting content, and that includes the classics of that length. In fact I dropped Our Blooming Youth, around episode 16 because its meandering overwhelmed my desire to see how it was going to turn out. My wife, who hates dropping shows, insists shes going to watch the end with or without me, which is fine, but as I pointed out to her--we are already dropping our petals. Why waste the rest of our once youthful bloom?
Anyway, that minor show aside, if anyone has insight into number of episode decisions, I'd be really interested in hearing it! Thanks!

It is my understanding that way back in the day of the Big Three Networks, dramas were made in-house. Outside talent was an additional expense. Network executives would grid out a yearly schedule and slot dramas (lengths) to fit budgets.16 episode dramas fit scheduling easily (one show for 2 months/slot) There was an odd logic that networks would pay actors less fees per episode for longer shows and dailies because those actors were getting a constant paycheck. But when budgets started to grow and limitations on the amount of advertising time, networks outsourced production to independent contractors to hire all crews, writers, directors, and actors for a set fee. This is when PPL started to creep in as a production company supplemental income source.

Independent cable companies brought competition and more opportunity for production companies to choose more profitable projects. A tier system started to evolve: drama specials (1-4 episodes) featured younger artists and writers; short-run dramas (5-10 ep) featured second leads being promoted to leads and regular dramas (12-20) featured bigger names and bigger budgets, while weekenders (48-52 ep) were family oriented soap operas.

In my opinion, budgets still control how many episodes are going to be made. It was reported that Netflix had been paying 3X the normal Korean talent rate/episode for their k-drama projects but now it seems to like to pare back to 12 episode runs (6 + 6 for binge/subscription retention reasons) to cut costs.

However, there are exceptions. ASK THE STARS just wrapped a year of filming and is in post-production. The large $38M US budget was fronted by Keyeast, a large talent agency and producer, but the series was made without a current network, release date or distribution licensing deal.

Tree With Deep Roots has 24 and I don't think I'd cut anything off it.
(Also, are you including even longer Sageuks in this category? Like Six Flying Dragons at 50 and up?)
Healer is also 20 and I actually think 20 works for it too, but some people might disagree 😂 and it's probably one of the only ones of its ilk and genre I would argue that for.

I actually think 20 EPs *can* work fine for a longer slower drama, especially something like a political trad sageuk, because there's a lot of story to work out, it's just that... You know... Lol. Other writing issues get in the way.
But it's definitely probably more an exception than a rule.

i binge watched it over one weekend. i'd say it is still in my Top 10 of favorites...

i agree, some dramas seem drawn out with dumb conflicts before the reunion at the end... those are a waste of time. i don't look at the number of episodes before watching, i just go along for the ride.

sometimes it seems perfect (regardless if there were only 12 episodes or 20). these are my favorites. the others get a "meh" rating from me if it seemed too rushed or too drawn out.

I think that how you consume said hours makes them, well, more or less consumable, depending on the show and the watcher? Some shows are more bingeable than others and some shows (and stories) need more time and dedication.

The form of many other current social medias is designed to rob you of your attention span also, which probably doesn't help anybody lol.

And yeah, the degradation of quality of art everywhere in favour of mass consumerability, profit and ratings has been going on for a while.

Happy weekend Beanies and keep Beaning On!

“Do not worry” I said. “I will be back by next OT” I said.😅The annoying thing about sensory overload is that it repeats itself. After 10 days I was back to decent, just in time to stress prepare for an important meeting last Monday. I got another panic attack yesterday, so any recovery that already happened this week has to start all over again this weekend. The end of next week I am packing and leaving for a weekend stay at my friend’s place, so I have a couple of days to either be responsible and finish my assignments on time, or catch up on Dramabeans gossip and the watchman reveal!😁

I noticed this week (as I was checking for the last episode of Picard) that Paramount Plus is in the process of adding adding KDramas. They only have three now but are apparently going to be building their collection (I think it's mainly OCN?). For those counting, that means in the US now we have Viki, Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, a few on AppleTV+ and now Paramount Plus in the mix (not counting Kocowa because most of their stuff ends up on the Viki Plus Pass and not counting that Chinese company, either). Absent from this list of major streaming services is HBO Max (soon to be just "Max"). Maybe all of us that are #stillbitteraboutDramaFever will have the last laugh at their short-sidedness in purchasing it only to dismantle it.

There is a potential writer's strike coming in the US, and Netflix has pretty much said they're in good shape to weather it due to all their international content.

And along the lines of international content, are you finding Hulu's strategy towards KDramas as awkward as I am? Subbed and dubbed versions of shows listed as separate entries. Sometimes the Korean-voiced version has a Korean name; sometimes it has the same name as the English-dubbed version. Finding what you want is difficult. Not to mention Disney's unorganized rollout of these shows on Hulu. We don't know if a drama will go up weekly in coordination with live airings in Korea, go up soon after it starts running in Korea, get released months after it airs in Korea (or is released in Disney Asia properties), or may just never get released for the US audience. It's not like Disney is going to tell us anything if they even have a plan.

I'll add these to the legit US streaming service list that I use regularly: Kocowa.com, OnDemandKorea.com, Asiancrush.com, and Samsung Plus TV. The first two are Korean-only dramas and films with decent enough English subtitles, Asiancrush has a decent mix of various also decently subtitled Asian dramas and movies, and Samsung TV has two Korean channels that play Kdramas and films, in addition to numerous other American and international channels.

I have Viki Plus, so I get some of the Kocowa content.
Also, Viki used to get more Taiwanese dramas.

What I have noticed lately is that Viki is taking off many k-dramas from this zone (I guess Europe). I had dramas on my list and now I have found that suddenly they are not available any more.
It seems that European zone is getting the new shows but it's losing the older. But even some recent dramas as 365: Repeat the year are not available here.

As I have mentioned before if I was Bill Gates DramaFever 2 would have been up and running for quite awhile by now with licensing ONLY. No original programming. Alas I am not Bill Gates.

You mention Viki’s “Coming Soon” section. My opinion only of course but to me for a long time you could find all kinds of programs there with a diminishing number of upcoming kdramas and almost no jdramas in the cops/crime/mystery genres which I always found odd since Viki is owned by a Japanese company Rakuten.
Maybe it is my imagination but I think Kocowa is starting to release more of the big three (KBS, SBS and MBC) current dramas to Viki US. I am watching two now: KBS’s OASIS AND MBC’s JOSEON ATTORNEY.
Interestingly I have noticed that Netflix US is now carrying a number of Japanese crime dramas including INFORMA (10 eps.), DEAREST (2021) (10 eps.), MIU404 (2020) (11 eps.).

Hopefully Paramount airing K-dramas doesn't translate to K-dramas disappearing behind yet another paywall never to be seen again.

The Real Has Come is one of the most entertaining dramas I have watched in some time. I never thought I would seriously watch a drama with 50 episodes but this one chases all the blues away!

Anyone watching the BL Our Dining Table? I think this is going to be my drama of the year. This is so freaking sweet! I love it. LOVE IT. This is my favorite romance and my favorite family drama rn. 🥺💜

I'm also rewatching Ho Gu's Love. After dropping The Real HC and Bo Ra, I thought "wait, pregnant by accident/single mom FL. Dating/love guru SFL?? I have two shows in one". 😆
It's been a year (or maybe two years) since I rewatched Ho Gu, so it feels so good to see all my babies again. The love I have for the characters is no joke. This show is gold.

Anyway, I hope you had a nice week beanies. And if you didn't, maybe you could try Our Dining Table. That show cured me, I'm not kidding. 😂
Love you all! Have a nice weekend. 💚

It sounds like Our dining table was the palate cleanser you needed and has now turned into the gift that keeps on giving. I loved Hogu Love too, thanks for bringing it back to mind.

I have always been a ‘too many new to me shows out there’ to spend time rewatching and risking losing the happy memories when I see them through more experienced eyes. However, the disappointment from the lack of new shows I want to watch and the increased number of dropped shows, I am seeing the appeal of sticking with guaranteed warm glows.

Yes, Our Dining Table is the best!!

I'm experiencing the same.
I used to worry so much about the little time I had to watch all my dramas, but now, since I'm dropping almost everything, I can rewatch my favorite shows.

Today I finally have a tidbit to share, and it's an informative one, yay! Thanks to Till The End Of The Moon absolutely WRECKING my drama watching schedule I've been high with Luo Yunxi fever these days and, just like any other freshly bewitched fangirl, had to dig DEEP into man's filmography. Which is a wild case of mixed bag btw, but that topic deserves a discussion of its own that I'll save for another day. What I wanna talk about tonight are his upcoming projects. There's 2 of them - some modern medical melo I'd rather never hear about again (terminal decease tragic romance? haha, NOPE, this particular trope is forever in my hall of shame) and, thank heavens, a historical drama. And not just any historical drama, but a mystery romance Follow Your Heart loosely based on The Beauty Inside. Yeah, that one kmovie/kdrama. Talk about unexpected))) So it's a remake so soft that it's not even considered one officially, only main concept - FL who has her looks changing drastically once in a while - remains, but apparently toned down and kind of explained (the whole thing is caused by some weird drug - never play with pills, kids!). Plus ML has prosopagnosia (face blindness) - so convenient for FL's condition, huh? And leads are childhood sweethearts. AND there is also some amnesia, fake marriage and lots of bickering involved. Lmao this is SO kdrama - and very makjang one - I love it))) The only downside is that it just started filming, so with the way things are usually done in c-ent we'll have to wait years quite a bit for this one *sigh* Nothing good ever comes easy, right? Anyway, I'm done gushing for now because you know me - the earlier I shut up, the better)))

P.S. I swear, if html doesn't work properly after all the effort I've put into it...

This is random but it just came to mind: I don't know what makes dramas click for people. For example, I know Business Proposal was a big success but I don't get why. It was just fine to me but some reactions, not on here (I don't even know if it was covered on here), was as if they reinvented the kdrama wheel. I can't think of an example that's totally opposite this drama.

Once again, I have a moment of appreciation for the cast & crews of dramas because it really seems like magic when things work.

Business Proposal was a hit because it was fun. Comedy of the earlier episodes was gold, no real love triangle but two likeable (and very different to broaden the audience) couples instead and, most importantly, zero thriller. It's a rare treasure in this era. So yeah, huge part of show's popularity is the fact that bar for romcoms has been VERY low lately.

Btw it was covered here on DB, you can read recaps and see how reactions differ from first episodes that were great to later ones that were just ok precisely due to decrease of hilarity factor.

Business Proposal started out basically a satire of K-drama rom-com tropes. It was self-aware in its winking humor. Then it (apparently) ran out of pre-written scripts and the (apparently) written-while-filming scripts lacked the charm of the earlier episodes. Instead of being a K-drama parody it was merely a K-drama.

Thanks @Britney for putting into words my sentiments about Business Proposal. It's squarely in the middle of the pack, but when it pops up on "Greatest Romcoms of All Time" etc lists, makes me cringe.

I wasn't trying to knock it or anything; it's just that's a recently popular one that came to mind and that's often on best lists. Maybe it's because I'm allergic to romance, weddings, happiness, etc but stuff is just lost on me. I didn't mind it and it was a fine watch but I didn't get why it is/was always listed as one of the greatest/best in recent years.

The thing I remembered most was I didn't like when people couldn't recognize her when she was herself and her disguise. That's part of the reason I was more drawn to the secondary couple. I really can't stand when people can't tell someone is the same person due to superficial changes (I could be wrong because I don't remember it too much and haven't seen it since it aired but wasn't her disguise just a change of clothes and highlights?). Like I don't even like Superman/Supergirl stories because I can't get over people not recognizing them.

People not recognising her when it was so obvious was part of the joke and the self awareness, in this show anyway. They really leaned into the absurdity of it on purpose.

But yeah, if it doesn't land, that's fine. 😂

It was pretty meta, which is an acquired taste yeah, and as @mikey said it unfortunately lost this self awareness later, and didn't maintain it or lean into it enough either.

Okay, so I'm having issues with my comments not registering on the what we're watching page and since I tried it like 2 or 3 times, I'm scared I'll just end up in the spam folder or something.

So, I have a question. In dramas, crushes and liking someone is almost always treated as the end all be all. You would think people are only ever allowed to like/love one person their entire lives. Characters are still in love with their 1st love damn near 20 years later, people only have a 1st love, etc.
I saw someone say they don't mind if someone doesn't like them initially because they can just try to win them over eventually.
In Chris Evans' new movie, his character goes searching for some woman who ghosted him because he felt a connection with her (or something. I don't even know because I haven't watched the movie but I think that's the premise). I've even some video essays/analysis about why The Notebook is an example of toxic behaviors. Anywho, criticism about the guy chasing a woman who ghosted him & the guy who said he would/could just to win over the girl/woman he liked made me wonder: what is the limit to pursuing someone?

In The Law Cafe (2022), Yuri said even though Jeong Ho wasn't interested in her romantically, she wasn't ready to give up on him and she would continue trying in earnest to make him see her in that way. In Live (2018), the character Sang Su tells pretty much everyone, including the woman he likes, Jeong Oh, that he likes her and will continue to like her even if she is currently involved with another guy.

What is the limit? Is there a limit (as long as you aren't hurting someone)?

There is not clear limit or line, sadly. I fell like a current trend, if I can call it that, leans towards either giving up fully after the very first sign of rejection or expecting a stalker label, which sounds like a very simple and practical approach... in theory. Irl I can recall tons of situation when people deliberately egged others to keep pursuing them with push and pull and expected, sometimes even demanded such behavior in return... It's just super confusing all around! Personally I never understood the rules of the game fully - and it took me pains and insane effort of studying people to get what I know now - which is probably why my love life is this nonexistent)))

SK is still a very conservative society that - outwardly, at least - prizes loyalty and purity, so obsession with eternal first love is nothing surprising. Which leads us to idea that stubbornly pursuing someone uninterested is ok as long as you don't go violent about it. Even if it takes years. Just keep your hands to yourself, be nice and patient and you'll be eventually rewarded... probably. "Be a main lead to ensure a 100% success" part of the equation is usually not spoken aloud, damn it)))

I don't date so I don't know if this is an entertainment invention but can't some people actually change their minds over time? I learn(ed) all my life lessons via tv so I only have tv & movies for examples. In the korean movie love forecast, the guy was in love with his friend since he even realized what liking someone was but she kept denying him and said she didn't see him as a man. I think it was after 18 years and her going through some extremely humbling experiences, she saw him in a new light and then proclaims she does love him and they get together.
Even though they both dated others because they were able to stay in each other's life, the relationship eventually changed.

I don't know if stuff like that happens in reality though.

Real life is crazier than any fiction - and more often than not actually))) Ofc most don't people stay loyal to one hopeless crush for their whole life, but it still happens, and sometimes such devotion does create a miracle. Entertainment certainly didn't invent the fact, just popularized the hell out of it.

If you want some wild real life example - well, I have a suitor who's been into me for 16 years. We met online as teens, became friends, dated on and off, almost married, broke up and he never fully moved on, probably due to the fact that I didn't date anyone afterwards. Lack of competition tends to give men this false impression that not all hope is lost yet... I'm still getting all kinds of proposals - including marriage ones - regularly despite a decade+ of constant stern rejections. The whole thing is so ridiculously telenovela, my huge family literally treats it as their favorite popcorn show *sigh*

God, that is the truest thing ever spoken/written about a kdrama

You could legit be a stalker and it would be okay as long as you're the main character.
Actually, I think the show You is an example of that! Haha
I don't watch that show but I remember seeing something where the lead actor made a post or said something in an interview about "hey, the guy is a creep. Stop fantasizing about him" or something like that.
