@isthatacorner’s crush reminding me of a summer crush I had and a piece of music that always reminds me of him…He was, and still is, a professional pianist and this was his favorite piece when I knew him. Actually, he was obsessed with this. Bach’s Goldberg Variations by Glenn Gould. I’ll forgive you if you ff this. It is 40 minutes long.
Oh this is a classic! Thank you for reminding me of this. The comparison with his 1981 version is also very interesting, and tells of how age and maturity and just thinking through things affects musical performance.
It really is interesting to listen to a favorite piece by a favorite artist as they change and mature over decades…along with our own ability to appreciate the differences!
