Last weekend I finished watching When The Camellia Blooms❤️. I didn’t get the chance to watch it while it was airing and I don’t know why I thought I wasn’t going to like it, but I ended up enjoying it more and more as it went along. My random thoughts about it in the reply:)

Lately, I’ve been very picky with my dramas. I just don’t have a lot of free time so I’m not picking up everything like I used to in my early drama watching days. I try to stick to two on-airing dramas and one completed one that way I have at least an episode a day. Balance, or something like that. Anyways, I don’t know what I was watching while Camellia was airing, but I heard many good things about it, especially in the end of the year reviews. But somehow it just didn’t appeal that much to me for a while. While searching and thinking about what to watch next, I thought about the cast and how much I like them in their other projects, so I decided to give it a chance. Kang Ha-neul as Yong-shik was sooo good at the adorable, totally in love, manly police officer. I’ve enjoyed his performances before, but this one stands out! I’ve only seen Gong Hyo-jin in It’s Okay, That’s Love which I liked, so I knew she would deliver, but I really liked that her character of Dong-baek saw lots of growth. I feel like I am a pretty outspoken person so I get a little frustrated when girls in dramas don’t say what they feel. I was so glad when Dong-baek stood up for herself that I cheered, hehe. I really liked Kim Ji-suk’s leading roles in Top Star Yoo Baek and 20th Century Boy and Girl that I was sad to see him as a second lead, but he does play that jerky, whiny vibe pretty well, lol. I tend to stay away from 20 episode dramas just because they get boring in their second half and I’ve been burned before, but for Camellia I was interested until the end. Yeah, it did get a little redundant, but entertaining nonetheless. If anything I wanted more Yong-shik and Pil-gu, or Yong-shik’s mom and Pil-gu, so we could see how they got along now. I also wanted more of Dong-baek and Yong-shik’s mom or Dong-baek and her own mom mending their relationship together. Basically, if it was going to be this long, I wanted more of the family shenanigans. Both moms in this drama reminded me of moms in my own life that I couldn’t help but ugly cry a few times. And you know when a drama does that to me, I guess it was good!
