On to ep 12 of my A Gentleman’s Dignity chat and watch

Honestly, I think my dislike of Meahri is taking over my enjoyment of the rest of the show. I think its because I enjoy Yoon so much as a character. He’s the most attractive of the guys, he’s smart, he’s kind, he’s a doof. Its very easy to see why Meahri has had a life long crush on him. Once again–I don’t see why he likes her at all. In this ep he sits her down and tells her that she needs to work on herself. She needs to have a goal other than him. And what does she do? Burst into loud sobs–much like a child being told she can’t have candy for dinner–and screams that all she cares about is him.
That is so attractive. No wonder he falls for her.

    On to ep 12
This storyline with the boy is really kind of gross. All four of them were sleeping with Eun Hee? Or was she only sleeping with one of them and never told her son who his father was.

I love that all 4 men and two of the women have fully fleshed out storylines and characters.

Jeung Rok’s wife is so cool. I think she’s who Pro Hong wants to be when she grows up but she doesnt quite know how to make that transition.

No one in this drama is good at hiding.
I mean….taking that medicine isn’t exactly all you have to do to have a baby. I do not understand Jeung Rok at all. He obviously loves his wife. He says that he doesn’t sleep with the women he “plays” with. He doesn’t sleep with them or buy them things. He just flirts with them and drinks tea with them. Why does he do it when he knows that it hurts his wife?

Oh, this is what Jeung Rok’s wife asked him to do for her. Hold her close and gently pat her until she falls asleep.

After 12 eps I still dont know how I feel about Pro Hong. On the one hand, I think she’s a jerk, a bad girlfriend and a worse friend. On the other hand I think she’s a pitiful creature. Her career is almost over, she hasn’t saved any money, she has no other skill set. She doesnt seem to have any friends other than YiSoo and she was quick to throw that away for TaeSan who she doesnt seem super committed to being with.

Were white skinny jeans/pants/leggings a thing when this drama came out? EVERYONE has worn them. I lowkey want a pair of white jeggings my own dang self with the way everyone looks in them. White jeggings and pale pink jeggings. They also have a great collection of tiny shorts/super cute blouse combinations going on.

I love that Yoon doesnt want to dance but he’s kind of shaking them hips a little bit anyway.

I’ve watched this multiple times, but I always fast-forward Meahri. She’s just unbearable. She was the original annoying constant crier, before Go Ara and Park Shinhye made it cool.

I stopped watching at ep 15. I got frustrated with Yoon and MeAhri and the long lost son plot line as well. I’m in the house with my 2 grown ass daughters and my parents, I’ve got all the frustration I can handle right now. lol.

Yeah, I don’t blame you there. I really loved this drama the first time I watched it and I think its one that I’ve tried to rewatch dozens of times but have never quite made it, I’m realizing. This is the furthest I’ve ever made it. Its almost like Im watching it for the first time, but my dislike of the Meahri/Yoon plot was so strong that its really the only thing that I remember well enough to always have my remote ready to fast forward whenever those two pop up. I remember the long lost son plot. I remember who the father is. I don’t remember what the plot is surrounding them.

      Stay safe! Stay sane!

I watched 8 episodes back then when it aired. I HATED it.

The whole drama or just Meahri/Yoon? Because I really, really like the drama a lot. Just not those two together.

All of it. I couldn’t like anything about it from the beginning and by ap 8 I realized I’m hating everything…

Ah well. It can’t be everyones cup o’ tea. And I can see why some people wouldn’t like it. It was one of my early dramas—like one of the first 20 or so that I watched (all within a 2 week span HA) and it was a stand out for me because it was about adults and everything I had seen up until that point was teens/early 20s. Rewatching it, it didn’t age very well, and I can see how YiSoo and JoDin and the rest of the lovelines are problematic. But I still love it. I still havent seen another drama where all of the characters were in their 30s/40s and were seen as viable romantic options.

I’m on ep 15 now, sports fans!

I wanted to be understanding with Eun Hee. I’ve never been 19 and alone and scared and pregnant. I’ve never been 19 alone and scared and pregnant with enough money to move to another country and make a good life for me and son, get married and have enough money to fly back and forth to S. Korea at the drop of a hat.
    I. Dont. Like. Her.
First of all, no matter who she liked the most, or what lies the guys told each other, when Colin showed up and announced that one of them was his father—they all took a beat and did math in their head implying that around the same time she was doing the do with all 4 of them.
She made a choice to leave all four of them, and to hear them tell it, she left all four of them heartbroken.
She made the decision to come back 10 years later and spring an oops baby on him. She told her son that she was taking him to meet his father, but didn’t give joDin any time whatsoever to sit with it. They met one day and she told him that the next day she’s going to bring someone to meet him. No warning. He didn’t show up. Instead of finding out why, she flew back home harboring anger in both her and her son for the next decade.
It is my conclusion that all four of them had questionable taste back in the day. Except for Yoon, they’re doing much better.

Can we talk for a few seconds about how flipping awesome Yeong Rok’s wife is? To quote our swag girls from way back when. She has SWAG. In every situation except for any involving her husband she just rolls up like the magnificent boss that she is and rescues the lost, confused, sad girls that her husbands best friends are in love with, and then she…swans away. I want her to gather all of these little chicks under her wings and make them better women. Meahri has been in her life for how many years? They seem close. How has that child not learned how to be fierce and fearless with this example around?

I need her to host a weekly seminar for these women until they become equally as awesome. And then, when they are on her level they can be her girl-gang. She needs real friends.

How do people just stand completely still? I get fidgety immediately.

I figure there’s some copyright reason why they couldn’t translate this book that she’s constantly reading, but I super wish that they would have broken the Fair Use law and translated it because I really want to know whats happening in this picture book.

Nothing to do with nothing, except that I’m chatting. But I do not get the appeal of warm milk. I can only drink milk if it is ice cold. Like it needs to be so cold that my throat hurts a bit when Im done drinking. Also, I hate bananas. They are flat out nasty. They have a weird texture and the taste is nothing tor write home about. I bought ordered my groceries online and bought bananas to be the secondary flavor in pineapple or strawberry smoothies. But when my groceries were delivered there were no pineapples. No strawberries. But there were BA

BANANAS. Now I have all these bananas in my house and I keep forcing myself to eat them even though they are squishy and gross and I down them with ice cold milk, even though, frankly speaking? Not a fan of that stuff either.

Back to the nonsense at hand.
Why doesn’t YiSoo just say she doesn’t want to break up? Again, someone I’m in love with hasnt had a 18 year old kid fall from the sky and be all, “Are you my daddy?” but it was a solid 19 years before he met you. Why is this a thing they can’t move past?
Why is she having him follow her around staring at her like a creepy stalker? And I know that she’s upset for a whole variety of reasons but him comparing her mother who abandoned her to raise other peoples kids to JoDin who didn’t know that he had a kid until last Thursday.

I love the cold open for ep 17. This is the scene thats stayed with me all of this time. One phone call and all of Yoons boys stop what they are doing and literally run to his side to help him prepare for the funeral. They left everything, ran to his side, and physically dressed him because he was too destroyed to do it himself. Their friendship is solid, long, and so, so deep. They sobbed for Yoon when he couldn’t do it himself. I wish they had shown us what kind of woman he had married. Is she an immature, self centered brat like Meari? Is that why he’s finding himself drawn to her now that shes an adult (in years–certainly not in action). Is she the polar opposite but familiar and he’s lonely? She can fill the hole that his wife’s death left. How long has it been since she died? They are all styled the way they are now, so it must have been relatively recently. He still wears his ring.

Also, I didn’t mention it in my other post because I was downing a banana (only 2 of those beasts left!) and a cup of ice cold milk but I LOVED the scene in ep 15 (maybe even 14) When the boys introduced themselves, officially, to Colin as his Uncles, and then again as his fathers longterm best friends and gave him presents welcoming him to the family. Their friendship is everything the friend chemistry between these 4 men is just absolute everything. Worth every second of annoying that pops up on the screen.

I love that even though this whole plot with them breaking up slowly is basically the stupidest thing I have ever seen on tv I love that he just goes along with it because he misses her and he loves her.

Another thing that I love? That SeRa actually went to go and find TaeSan. This whole drama has been her leading him around, treating him like a jerk. I also love that she invited herself to his blind date. But how are they laughing at how ridiculous she is when she’s exactly like Meari. I have no discernible talents or skills, but Im the daughter of someone rich. Im cute. Marry me!
I kind of want a prequel to figure out exactly how Jeong Rock and his badass wife ended up together.

Look here, its awfully crappy of her to use Colin as a way to see JoDin.

I dislike bananas too, but a smoothie with bananas, milk and ice can be lovely. Forget healthy smoothie and put it sugar too.

Well I would if I had any other fruit! All I’ve got is stupid bananas! With their weird mushy texture. Something has gone terribly awry. Sigh. I’ve got two left and I shove one down before bed.

Uh uh no! I wouldn’t ruin any other fruit with bananas! But I would make myself swallow them by thinning that texture and covering the taste with lots of milk and cream and sugar! And maybe a little vanilla. Or sweetened condensed milk? Or two heaping tablespoons of sweetened cocoa…

@midnight Strawberry Bannana is my favorite smoothie/milkshake. You dont taste the banana hardly at all. It makes the strawberry strawberrier and creamier. The gross banana texture smooths out the ice and emphasizes the sweetness of the strawberries. I never need to add sugar to my strawberry banana smoothies. I was hoping that the banana would do the same thing for a pineapple smoothie. But NO PINEAPPLES. Sigh.
