Music March
Lucinda Williams’ Car Wheels on a Gravel Road.
I love this song. Even though it is obviously rooted in the South I find it such a universal snapshot of childhood. I think some find it a sadder song than I do.
It definitely touches on the vulnerability of children and the confusion of a life that is directed often by the whims and moods of adults.
But I also remember that feeling of watching the world go by through a car window as the radio played, learning the first voices of the soundtrack that will make up your life.
