I watched TOL because of Yang Se-jong. My first YSJ drama was DUEL which was the drama he was in immediately before TOL and where he gave a tour de force performance (of four roles) in only his third drama. It is an incredible performance.

Even though I mostly rooted for the lead couple, I sometimes wondered if the SL (Kim Jae-wook) was better for the FL.

I actually liked Hospital Ship better. I dropped ToL then finally forced myself to finish it for KJW.

I think both dramas would have been better at 16 episodes. HS did provide some beautiful locations.

It stayed mostly steady, and boring, until the ridiculous kidnap scene. Then returned to steady and boring.

ToL was my first Kdrama, so all was new and refreshing to me, and I liked it a lot. I don’t know what I would think if I rewatched it now.
