Honestly, I would rather have someone tell me what they disagree on, downvoting seems needlessly petty. I understand that the upvote button is because having a million people comment I agree is pointless, but the downvote button doesn’t help discussion.
Yeah, I also feel the downvote button is of no use, especially because most don’t even tell you their reason or opinion. In the end you don’t know why you have been downvoted. It irks me because I only write positive comments and get downvoted because I love something.
Same!! I try to be as positive, if not objective, as I can be with my comments–not just with that article, but with all my comments and posts here on DB– but still got down votes…
Yes!! I agree. It should be removed. If you disagree then tell me! I would be interested in your differing view. We all understand that not everyone thinks the same way.
