Every character did well in that show. I just wish they had given more time to LCJ though. I mean, he was alone, fighting for a just cause, even if the methods employed were not right, some time should have been given to him for the audience to digest his deeds. I feel so sad that at the very end, his beloved wife still didn’t understand him and sought to get the chairman out of prison. To do what? Continue with the manipulation of money?
I think she understand about her husband’s motivation, but I couldn’t completely blame her for still doing things the same way. After all, her husband is gone and Chairman Lee is his own father. If she just blindly opposing her father, she might end up in a worse situation. She has siblings whom from her story, sounded very similar to her father and could potentially become a trouble. She also needs to think about her daughter. At least this way, she can have some control over her life and live comfortably.
I don’t understand why her assets are not taken away or frozen after her father’s misdeeds are uncovered and investigated. Shouldn’t the company take a beating? How does she manage to be the CEO of the company?
I guess Chief Lee’s last act to transfer her asset to a scholarship foundation has somewhat save her. It also seems like the prosecutors’ main goal is to arrest Chairman Lee and other important politicians, so it’s possible that there isn’t strong evidences against her. And just like what he said to Chief Kang in his interrogation, without strong evidences or search warrant or the suspect’s own confession, it’s easy for people like them to avoid punishment.
