I kind of want to know what all you Beanies do for a living? I’m a very reluctant architect who hates the job life just as much as I love it. #ToAllTheRealLifeJangGueRae’s

    Why a reluctant one?

I’m a Financial Advisor who finds kdramas really handy in building rapport with my clients. 😂

Because I want to be a Fairy Princess Writer Superhero who saves the world instead? Or maybe just a simple interior designer if I can’t have that. 😀 Meh, adulting is HARRRD!

How so? Do you introduce them to the Kdrama Wonderland? I’m curious now. 😀

Well nothing is impossible! You can be a Fairy Princess Writer Superhero! You just have to believe 😂😂😂

Well I usually find out that people I talk to are also kdrama fans, so it’s easy to build rapport. Talk about Oppa and the deal is closed. 😍😂

hahah it’s definitely in the pro category. My coworker and I sit next to each other so in between our work loads we fill each other in on our shows. <3

Architect seems like it’d be a neat job! Do you work on anything in particular or is it a mix of homes, buildings, etc?

I’m a Patient Access Rep studying Medical Coding so I can get a job working from home so I have the opportunity to do what I really want to do, train service dogs.

I work on homes, commercial buildings and I used to design retail interiors previously. But the grind is always there – especially if you’re working for somebody else. You never get to implement your own ideas and concepts. If your client approves, the boss disapproves. It kills your aesthetic slowly and painfully. :'(

Ohh, what do you in medical coding? Is it interesting? Aw, you can definitely do that on the side! Himneyo!

Ah, I see. It’s really too bad they don’t allow more freedom or give you more say in the projects but hopefully you’ll still have opportunities to use your ideas!

Sorta lol, you break down medical records into diagnosis and procedure codes.

I’m a librarian, public one. Love it and hate it sometimes.

The latter two are the main goal.

Oh, same! I do freelance writing as well! I mostly ghostwrite blogs and I have this fanfiction that is my baby but I never get the time to work on it. What do you write?

Ohmigod like Sanfransisco? I hate planning on contours but I digress; the results can be fascinating! And I trust you not to kill those trees! We need those trees!

Definitely not killing trees! Unfortunately, forestland’s been denuded years ago, reforestation is in the right path though, forest cover has improved already by 38%

Sounds promising. My country keeps on killing trees for civil works. I hate it. I absolutely hate it. It’s 2% green right now and 98% concrete. Don’t know how we’ll survive. 🙁

sadly, had to suffer major disasters (flooding, landslides) before climate change adaptations & mitigations were taken seriously.

that’s 1 of my frustrations with my work,no matter how badly you want to do something,if there’s no political will or public awareness & cooperation, change would be too slow

It’s always going to be too late. Even architects keep destroying local habitats for more glamor instead of conforming to nature. It’s sad really.

It’s really sad when you fall out of love with something you used to be passionate about. The grind kills inspiration. I totally understand.

Ah @zgs1994 Architect must be one of those professions where you seldom get to do what you really want and frequently have people complaining or making you do what they want. I used to work as a programme or project manager implementing government social care policy. Now I’m living in the countryside growing willow and making baskets. Fairy Princess Writer Superhero sounds perfectly possible!

It’s terrible. But I kind of quit at the beginning of this year and I found that I actually enjoyed designing stuff and missed it terribly. So then I started jobbing again – and once again, I started to hate it!

Point to be noted: I enjoy designing, but only if it’s for me, myself and I. 😀

I really liked the project-based work a lot more than the long term roles and I’d always be working to finish it well so I could hand over. The office politics really used to get to me and sometimes I’d be managing upwards as well as my own team and the actual projects. Aargh!

Totally understandable. The office politics is gross. the favorite is gross. It’s everywhere and it’s just…ihate it!

I totally sympathise with you. It took so much of my emotional energy to work in that sort of environment. Misaeng was such a good drama but it was quite painful to watch. Feel free to let off steam with me! I’ve plenty of horror stories to share too. 🙂

Well, some days I go to work early so I can get in some of my freelance work before anyone comes in, and the draftsmen once told the boss on me. -.-‘ I’ve resented them ever since.

You feel free to let off some steam as well! I’m always here to listen.
