actually tried BP (some song given how much KB guys talk about them) but didn’t like much.. then watched lisa on KB and man! she is gold.. attitude, dancing, overall… but still didn’t like their songs.. AND THEN..was watching this one performance in Produce s2 on “Playing with Fire”… and i loved the song so much.. so went back to check whose song it is.. and lol.. rounded up on Lisa again..

But i love that girl.. and the group..

That’s quite a bit unfair to say. Not all Koreans are plastic or fake. Most celebrities aren’t going to show you their true personalities because that’s part of the system in any country. While it’s nice to find celebrities who aren’t seemingly fake, we shouldn’t stereotype anyone.

How is it unfair? I haven’t seen even a single korean celeb till now gutsy enough to break free from the routine fake demeanour. And it isn’t that they can’t SeoJin, JJY do.. and you are twisting my point.. that Korean culture demands overly submissive attitude is the truth… they live by it.. and most follow it.. for an outsider they do have less burden to bear because as simple as that they are not part of that community , therefore the community itself will be willing to give them free passes whereas be more harsh on their own.. so there is no sterotyping here..

I’m not twisting your words because you said “mayb cauz she isnt Korean, she is dat awesome…not bogged down by fake plastic behavior,” which directly implies that *all* Koreans demonstrate “fake plastic behavior.” The only thing I read into it was that you meant celebrities. I get where you are coming from with your explanation, but that is not how it is presented in your original post. There’s a very distinct difference between “Lisa is awesome because she isn’t Korean” and “Lisa is given more leniency to break cultural norms because she’s a foreigner.” And, just because the Korean culture expects stricter standards on social behavior doesn’t make them fake. It’s just different to what we might expect. I’m American, so I’m used to different behavior from celebs but I still see them as fake for the most part because that’s part of the game. I don’t see that as wrong though, just part of the Hollywood system.

left out female korean celeb who is not a comedian (and bound by the job to make fun of herself or get a little more daring with her witty remarks).. if another such celeb exists.. feel free to enlighten me.. it would be a pleasure to watch such awesome women who can carve their own identity amidst over minute second to second scrutiny of their lives
