I’ve never heard anything bad about City Hunter. I like LMH. However whenever I’m looking for something new to watch I always pass it up saying if I don’t find anything else, I’ll watch this.

I watched the first episode and never got any further. I tell myself that too. I’ll watch it eventually…

I believe you. Its just a matter of starting it. I never feel like it. I even heard that this is Lee Min Ho at peak hotness. And I’m still….eh. I’ll get to it eventually. I’ve started The Innocent man instead.

It’s good! I recommend it when you’re in the mood for some fun action. The best part is listening to JB and GF’s drunk podcast after watching it. They practically wrote a season 2 for the show and it is awesome, lol!

I can tell you bad things about it if you want…
*odd one out* *i know* *but I’m still salty about the last 5 hrs*

Naaaaaah. I mean. You can if you want. But it’ll all go right on over my head. Its just been on TBW list pretty much since I started watching dramas and I just skip right on over it every time.

Hahaha let’s just say, the first 15 episodes are pretty fun, the last five are a mess. 😛
I don’t think you’re missing THAAT much by not watching it??? Maybe some good action scenes…

I think Lee Min-ho ( auto correct tried to make it min-ki lol) has alot of personal charisma, it really made him stand out among the cast of BOF because cracky or not it was a mess in alot of ways but he kept me watching, which is amazing. But it doesn’t seem to help in really awful roles I havent seen Heirs but the reviews were emphatic. Faith I dropped but that was more due to his leading lady, for some reason I just didn’t care for her, but I think in another role I wouldn’t care.

I still haven’t watched this either. It’s not even that I don’t like LMH, but I guess I’ve yet to be amazed by him? I mean, I get his appeal, and he isn’t a bad actor. But BoF makes me angry, though that’s not his fault. Heirs is just…terrible…in every way. (Yes, even KWB’s character. He was an abusive s*** and I don’t get the SLS there — a great character and well acted, but a terrible person.) I couldn’t get into LotBS, and Personal Taste was utterly forgettable to me. Am I missing any? Other than the rave reviews, nothing about CH makes me want to jump to see it. Is that weird?

Not at all. BOF was my introduction to Kdrama (the second one I watched after Coffee Prince I believe) and it was my first crack!drama. I mean, I shut my office door and watched BOF at work –no shame, and consequences be damned. I watched The Heirs and thought it was horrible but I watched it with Delightful Gal A and my work friend and every time I considered giving up on it my work friend would say *Reverently* “I just…I just want to delicately nibble on KWB eyebrows” How can you walk away after that? I stayed in it for the eyebrows. I did love Personal Taste, though. I still remember his character running all over creation looking for pain killers when she had cramps and then rubbing her belly. Its something I would never want for myself. But I adored the sweetness on screen. And the kiss at the movie theater. I watched the first ep of LotBS and gave up. But, I think he’s a competent actor. He’s attractive (again–I’ve been told he’s at peak hotness here) and considering the depths of my shallowness there’s really no reason why I shouldn’t have seen this already. But—the whole thing makes me go eh. One day.

PT had its moments, but I cannot remember like 95% of it to save my life. I only remember loving the twist at the end where he made his own special building like the apple remember thinking that was sweet. And that he was really nice in rejecting his bossman.

I haven’t watched City Hunter either it and Healer are on the too of my have to watch list. I’m pretty confident I’d like it but I keep stalling out at the first episodes. Partly since its been so hyped it couldn’t possibly live up to my expectations

Healer was good. I think if you watch it when it hasn’t been talked about for awhile–and maybe watch the first few eps before talking about it (because without a doubt someone (possibly me) will scream on the beanie wall: Its the best drama evvvvvvvvaaaaaaaaa) and get yourself naturally interested you’ll like it just fine. It was a really good drama.

The more LMH dramas I watch, the less appealing he gets to me too…

It’s not even him — I just find the quality of the dramas he’s chosen to be subpar. PT was a mess in terms of direction. Heirs was just a mess. LotBS was too…something about it felt off, and I could only get though like 2 episodes, if even that. I just don’t know if it’s his fault or just that the writing/direction on all those dramas didn’t do it for me.

Lobster- I watched the whole thing- I found that there was mosre chemistry between JJH and the secondary characters than there was LMH, the ending was a cop out and the story slowly lost it’s grip on itself.
Idk, maybe it’s a bit of both? He’s heralded as this greeeeat actor, but I kinda find his delivery a bit average…? *srhugS* *could just be poor script though* *which means he does just choose awful shows* *sigh*

Is he though? Do people really think LMH is a great actor? To me he seems like one of those actors who is famous because he’s pretty but has an extremely limited range and can only play one or two types of characters at best. Maybe he’s looking worse because he’s trying to —-expand? And his talent really isnt meant for such things.

*shrugs* maybe it’s just the hype he sometimes get son Dramabeans that made me think that. I actually have no idea. He’s super popular, but that doesn’t mean quality does it now.
I guess I was just trying to be nice, give him the benefit of the doubt, but really, the more we talk about it the more I’m like ‘he’s not actually that good’ lol

What @isa said. I mean, I don’t think he’s terrible, but he’s also not genius by any means. I think he needs a good director and really strong writing to do well. PT, LotBS, BoF, Heirs, all sort of tend to be weaker on at least one of these two. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him in a movie, so I can’t say if he does better in that format. I could see him being better as a movie actor where the development is truncated so the flaws don’t seem as gaping.

I mean–the first time I saw BOF (before I knew better and was just mesmerized by all the pretty) it wasn’t LMH I had problems with. It was the chick who play Jan Di. When I rewatched it earlier this year it was the chick who played Jan Di (she did SUCH a bad job). I think LMH is decent at what he does. As for his popularity here—well, not to knock on DB or anything because heaven knows I love it–but there seems to be a lot of loud voices? Take BTIOFL for instance—its a really good show but the hype its been getting here is INSANE. I’m not saying don’t trust the fanwall—but yeah. Maybe take the fanwall with a salt shaker.

“With a salt shaker” hahaha, oh absolutely. If I hadn’t been interested in BTLIOF from the start, for me, as my own decision, I could’ve joined the bandwagon, or be put off because of hype. As it is, I’m enjoying the show, but the hype still sometimes gets to me.

I knew I was going to love it because my love of Lee Min Ki is deep and strong and has been real for some time now. And I also like the female lead who’s name I typically remember but I am deep in my Lee Min Ki happy place and well—there aren’t a lot of words here.
ANYWAY. I would have watched that drama for the two of them alone and watched it to the end whether its good or not. It is a good drama and I don’t begrudge anyone their right to enjoy it or to hype it to the skies above but—It just seems that at a certain point it just seems excessive and it seemed insincere.
