Papa Seo thinks he is dying of stomach cancer. He has been pretending that he is going off deep sea fishing to make money but he is really fixing up his parents’ old place as a place to end his days. Meanwhile, his family got his test results and they show no cancer. Papa told his family to kiss off, more or less, because they all hurt his feelings a lot in the past.

Mama Seo has been running the hamburger restaurant, but just got reprieved by Ms. No. Since no one in her family trusts her, she has kind of lost her purpose in life.

Ji Tae and his wife are on the verge of divorce because she got pregnant by mistake and he wants to keep the baby, but she wants to stick by their contract which says no children. She moved out.

Ji An confessed her feelings to Do Kyung, but said she will never act on them because she will never ever willingly become part of the Haesung family. She arranged for Ji Soo and Hyuk to have a date without them realizing that she did it. She is studying design.

Ji Soo tried to dump Hyuk, not in a very nice way, when she realized that his first love was Ji An. She also told Ji An that they should be strangers and never to call her again. Somehow the birthday cake she made found its way to Ji An anyway, and Ji An realized that Ji Soo had made it. Later, Hyuk cleared up the misunderstanding and now they’ve just started officially dating. Obviously, Ms. No knows nothing about this, and Hyuk has no idea that Ji Soo is connected with Do Kyung’s family. Also Do Kyung has no idea about Ji Soo and Hyuk.

Ji Ho lost his shoe sales job due to some jerky rich lady, so he dumped all his anger on rich Cinderella. Now he is about to buy his own franchise. He got drunk over his father’s illness and rejection of his family, and Cinderella picked him up off the floor and took him back to his room.

Grandpa No is staying busy pulling strings to foil all Do Kyung’s attempts to start his own business, rat that he is.

Papa Choi is getting therapy because he realizes he has absolutely no meaning in his life – he can’t even protect his children from Grandpa.

Ms. No aka Evil Mom realized that Do Kyung’s love had to be Ji An so she met her and threatened her, but Ji An stood up for herself. Ji An said she had no interest to be part of Haesung Group and Evil Mom should settle the issue with her son.

Do Kyung has been working mimumum wage jobs to pay the rent at the share house, and bought Ji An a pretty necklace for her birthday – that’s when she confessed to him, but although she has been more friendly to him, she still is telling him that they have no future. Do Kyung asked at the end of the last episode if she would reconsider, and she said no again, so he said they’re over. But he still isn’t going home, because he doesn’t want to be a pawn on Grandpa’s chessboard for the rest of his life.

Sorry, I dropped this show in the way early stages so don’t know what’s going on. I have seen some beanies post about it but most of them were in the What We’re Watching post. You might want to try there…but not sure if you have time to search through those comments.

Ji Soo still isn’t getting along well with Haesung family, but she and Cinderella have started to share secrets and she helped Do Kyung by bringing him a suitcase. The Haesung adults are too busy to try to control her at the moment, but they’re intending to send her away to Paris to keep from being an embarassment.

Cinderella had a DNA test done because she felt so rejected by her family. Her mom told her they ignore her because she is the least of their problems, since she was brought up to be perfect. She has been sneaking out to have a real life hanging out with Ji Ho.

Mr. Baker and Hee got married and are being cute together as newlyweds.

That’s more or less where we are as of this week. Do Kyung has been trying to open a bio plastic company, whatever that might be, but without telling people that he worked for Haesung or using his own money, which means he has no background and nothing to impress investors except talk.

Oh, and the ahjussi that Ji An works for at the woodworking place turned out to be Hyuk’s father.
