The Woman Who Didn’t Want To Be or To Be Called “Mother”

I like that this show gives us more complex characters than the typical cardboard ones.
In episode 3, Hye Na concludes that her mother doesn’t love her. It’s heart breaking to watch to say the least. The poor child has been hanging on this last thread of hope that somehow, somewhat her mother did really love her despite of all that has happened. However, the mother’s appearance on TV, her demeanour, her words put a the last nail in the coffin. So, it was interesting that in ep 4, the drama chose to show how the mother was affected by Hye Na’s death. It doesn’t excuse her or make her crimes any less. It is just rare that a show can depict a villain without stripping her of all humanity or trivialise her inhumanity with some sob story.

I want to see het jealousy and pain once she know her own childs is no longer hers! I love it the writers add humanity to see her character so we can witnessing her crumble because of her own child.
