Seeing the head writer in radio romance reminds me of Indian soap operas antagonists-what with her obsession with nail colours and one track mind of destroying the heroine. ..now all she is missing isSome kohl on her eyes and accompanying evil music

When I read kohl on her eyes Kokila from Saath Nibhaana Saathiya popped in my head! Her Kajal is epic 😂

Oh yeah I remember her LOL! Even though I haven’t watched the serial. ..but I don’t think she was an antagonist was she? I was talking about all the ekta kapoor serials villains…I think Urvashi dholakia and the likes

I don’t know, I don’t think she was, my mom used to watch it and my cousin calls herself Kokila because she has big eyes, LOL!
Oh, yes, Ekta Kapoor’s villains, now I remember some of them😂

hahaha that’s very first character came to my mind when reading kohl.
and yes she was indeed Antagonist during the initial days (not completely) but yes, she dint like Gopi to go near Aham (mother’s insecurities)… later down the line she became a better MIL for Gopi.
and the reason i am writing long description is i was a bigggg fan of that show that i still remember when it starts airing, made many MV for GoHam
      *peaking from my pillow*
but dropped it the moment Jia Manek was replaced by a new actress to play Gopi Vahu.
      ok.. samachar samapat. Namaste.
*please dont judge me based on my love for this one indian drama*

LOL! I couldn’t think of anyone else! Yes, I remember my mom complaining about her being replaced, she loved Gopi and thought Jia Manek was perfect as her, she also dropped it after a while because she couldn’t get used to the new Gopi!

That’s why I stopped watching Hindi serials, the leads get replaced all the time and that’s just so irritating, plus the music and the focus on the same scene over and over again, like get to the point! Last Indian drama I watched was Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, and I remember everyone and their mother was so head over heels for Arnav Singh Raizada 🙈😂

        And no worries, I don’t judge 😀🤚

ahh thats a relief to not to be judged.
i agree indian drama tends to make things over dramatic, with all that music, makeup etc. they cant keep things simple like kdramas and follow a good script…. thats the reason i stopped any drama after SNS. i was so badly addicted to it, joined one indian drama forum, became mod, spent my 3 years on it and then had to leave everything cause it turned so boring then.
i still love that serial (Jia’s time) so much and esp Jia and Nazim together.

Iss pyar ko kya naam doon was superb, cute with Hot Barun Sobti. Many of my friends loved that drama and esp Barun.. they used to stop whatever they were doing to watch it on tv… lol craze you can say.

LOL, it’s okay, we’re all drama addicts after all! I used to watch a lot of Hindi serials with my mom and sisters, we got busy with studies and work so we stopped watching TV and mom switched to Turkish dramas now!

@superwhopotterlock, I watched a lot of her dramas, almost all, since I was 5 😂

LOL! All we did was watch Hindi serials back then, we didn’t have anything good on Arabic TV!
Yes, but I think we didn’t watch Kutumb, I know the name but can’t remember if we’ve watched it! I think I was most into Kahi to Milenge, Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii and Kaisa Ye Pyar hai!

This whole conversations is bringing back so many memories!

@azzo1 those were such days of our life and this discussion making me recall my school and college days how i used to talk to my besties abt what all happened in my fav serial last night… and predict what will happen next.
i have watched a lot tv serials then, i was a complete tv addict then, few are these Kahin Kisi Roz, Ek ladki anjani si and Karam.

Hehehe! I was 9 or 10 when Kahani happened and I still remember it! Kaisa Ye Pyar hai was such a hit, even where I live (Oman- an Arab country) everyone used to watch it, my aunts used to call my mom to discuss it, true addicts, I tell you, LOL!

@kdramaswimmer, yesss, OMG, I can’t believe I actually remember all of those, fun days, I was glued to the TV!

I have to admit, this made me laugh ….. particularly the part of the “accompanying evil music”. I’m suddenly imagining those productions with the over-the-top musical fanfare …… because sometimes you just have to emphasize who the villain is (even though it’s been obvious since they first appeared onscreen!) LOL!

Lol at the last line. A friend of mine once tried to convince me to watch Hindi dramas, but one look at their heavy eye make up (no offense meant) turned me off. But I watch and love Hindi movies. ^^

Don’t worry. ..I never liked watching hindi serials. .they all had to put on heavy makeup for the villains while the heroine was always plain looking. ..atleast most of the serials I saw…at one point the inevitable happened…I stopped watching
