LMAO

Dear Yoon Park’s stylists,

Sherwani is not a Yoga attire.
It is for weddings or other special occasions.
Yes, he looks in that red one but it doesn’t mean you can make him dress in that while doing Yoga! 😛

Yours sincerely,
An Indian kdrama addict.

      are you from India ?

My parents are. I’ve only visited a few times since we don’t have much family left there. So, kind of? I’m ethnically Indian but not from India I guess is the best way to put it.

understood… and that does make you an indian by roots. *anyeong to fellow indian beanie*
          nice to know you here…🤗

          3

Definitely not denying my roots! (I mean, I literally just had dal and rice for lunch.) I just have a hard time claiming to be from a country I barely know, even if its culture is a part of my life.

            @snarkyjellyfish
i was not at all trying to force that word onto you i just trying to rephrase it for my better understanding.
and i completely understand your pov. just hope i dint make you feel bad with my words.

Oh, don’t worry. I just get defensive because having brown skin and immigrant parents means a lot of having to define one’s self in America, even in the liberal circles I run in. I love my heritage, but I tend to be more forward-looking than backward when it comes to defining myself.

I think a lot of this has to do with the political climate now. And the fact that I identify more strongly with my religious heritage than my cultural one.

So you definitely didn’t offend me! (Also I was walking down to work so I probably was more blunt than intended.) I just have had an interesting time figuring out my identity my whole life so it’s a whole thing with me.

Even though I know nothing, as soon as I saw him wearing that I was suuuure it wasn’t meant for yoga!
It’s such a pretty outfit, though!

Hahha.. yeah, it’s a ceremonial attire and worn on weddings or festivals mostly.

No wonder it looks so gorgeous!
I’m sure it’s meant only for men, but could a woman wear it too?

          sherwani is only for men…
but female in our country do have tons and tons of other options as ceremonial attire which are just as gorgeous as this. some options are Saaree, Anarkali, Lehnga etc.

Wow, I’m looking at Anarkali dresses pictures and they’re so gorgeous!
I was thinking about women who don’t feel comfortable using dresses, that’s why I asked…
Thanks for the info, I’m so happy to have people to ask this things to ^^

Women usually wear sarees or lehengas for wedding but one can always style a suit a bit similar to sherwanis. For example-

lol and here i was all swooning seeing him in red, taken screenshots to post on my fan wall (obviously after throwing logic out of window and hadn’t have any thought that sherwani and yoga are not made for each other)
and now after reading ur post i am *facepalm* why i dint think of it while taking screenshots…
btw thanks for saving from getting embarrassed….

Heheh.. yeah I ignored that first one he wore when he first showed up in ep1 cuz it was such a weird mix of clothes- not even Indian as such- plus I didn’t want to start criticizing everything abt the show from the get go- but this one made me laugh!

I have totally switched off my brain while watching this show so I didn’t even notice it! They should at least do some research before portraying other cultures. On another note how’s he gonna teach them how to stretch? LOL

        1

Frankly speaking I am not as pissed at this show as I was with Strong Woman Do Bong Soon and it’s fake “guru”

Ha! The stretching would lead to some tearing of clothes for sure 😛

I haven’t finished watching SWDBS yet. Last few episodes totally changed the flow of the show imo. I’m planning to watch it again just to finish it . will be on the lookout for this guru. Can’t remember him.

Guru?? What guru?? I was blinded by Park Hyung-sik glowing aura. 😂

Pfffft! That side story of the gangsters going to a temple and finding a ‘guru’ who actually had a tattoo and might have been an imposter or sth- really didn’t make sense and worth forgetting 😛

I remember him. He was weird and I didn’t care too much about him. But the OTP was just too cute.

        3

I agree that the OTP was adorable but that was it- like the OTP WAS the show. They could have done so much with that kinda basic idea- of a strong woman- but it ended up being a cute fest. And Ji Soo was wasted. And the side characters- gosh!
I think the amount of FF I did, the show would have ended in like 8 episodes!

          1
          1

Yes, the OTP was the show. I think that was all I needed at the time. I do remember that I did start to lose interest somewhere towards the end. And Ji Soo could have been so much more. But maybe coz his character was supposed to be gruff, his acting came out a little stiff.

Yup.. I think my expectations from Ji Soo were sky high but he disappointed both here and in Moonlovers
