    I want a drama with them

      I realised we’ve never seen a female lead that’s a little on the bitchy side and straight up bad and cool paired up with a male lead coz dramas are always about the good girl

        I think makjang drama [especially the 2nd half] is usually about that, like what happens ala Wife’s Temptation, Flames of Desire and east of eden.

        In the prime time, nice guy, secret, Queen of Ambition, empire of gold, punch, cruel city, miss ripley, night light and even the new one like witch’s court, women of dignity and whisper has that element, the main female lead who isn’t a good girl and straight up bad, want revenge, can be bitchy and will make the other people paid for what they did.

        The problem with this drama usually is that it’s too much of complication for no reason like they can’t make her doing good things and you can’t side with her in a long-term, paired with a bad guy so you can’t root anyone as you fed up after another ep.

        I think there is a whole another genre with this type of female lead but they aren’t usually in the teens drama.

        YES! She’s bratty and bitchy but she’s also righteous and loyal when it’s about her friends especially. She just plays dirty. So much layers! And then it’s also shown that she has her own insecurities. The scene that you screencapped was soooooo good. It’s kinda sad because if this is an American show, we could have the bad boy and the bad girl together but alas, we’re in kdramaland. Huhuhu. I have nothing much against Joy, it’s just that, right now, I’m more interested in Moon Ga-young.

          Ugh, my heart doesn’t know what it wants. I see Woo Do-hwan with any girl and go “yes, they have all the chemistry, I need this to happen!”

          I like that Moon Ga-young’s character is so messy but I also love that Joy’s character seems like she has goals all her own… I cannot decide, I just want oppa to be happy in the end!

        Yes, I was so happy they actually gave the “mean girl” enough dimension and background for us to actually like her, and to understand why SH cares about her so much.
