PRO TIP, kids: Lower your expectations for a show SO LOW that the ending, whilst not good, could certainly have been a lot worse.
Although actually … maybe don’t do this hahaha I don’t think I’d inflict my watching habits upon anyone.
(Seriously, you don’t wanna know my version of the ending. Twas super sad. I wouldn’t have used a memory trope though, so that’s always a good thing).
I wouldn’t mind seeing our OTP back together again and Monkey wrecking some havoc in the underworld. But seriously didn’t understand the amnesia part…was it necessary? Couldn’t they just give us an hour of our couple being cute together? NO…the answer was no. Not even a goodbye kiss.
Oh no the amnesia part was a cop out. They had no idea how to finish the last episode. That’s what that told me. “oh uh, she’s dead, he’s like severely injured oh uh what’s important RIGHT THE GGG THAT’S STILL IMPORTANT RIGHT?” Which I mean sure, he finally told her he loved her without it after 20 episodes, wow, such a … climax.
To be honest with you, I really didn’t like the ending we got. Nobody er stayed apart permanently which was totally what I was waiting for, but it wasn’t a good ending either. But I’d been bracing myself for like 10 episodes to be disappointed by the show, and guess what! It lived up! no way.
When I saw the spoilers for the ending I postponed the final few episodes till the longest time possible. I like to think that Hong Sisters did this to give us hope for Season 2 but then their track record of making a Season 2 for any of their series is zero therefore I feel betrayed. Add that with the constant reminder of that tacky cgi dragon and I just wish the final week’s episode disappeared.
