Lol since I don’t have much kdramas in watchlist these days, I have been trying to get myself into taiwanese dramas. I tried to watch first two episodes of ‘fated to love you’, the male lead was kind of cool and funny, but the heroine is a bit stupid and looks clueless all the time 😅. Then the 2nd male lead looks kind of cool too, I tried to watch him in this another show called bromance, but the female lead there looks a bit androgynous imo, 😅 . So any recommendation anyone? I like co-habitation dramas, noona romances, and couples who bicker a lot, 😁 🙈 .

many beanies are watching Lion Pride now, Meet Me @ 1006 is currently airing, Devil Beside You is classic, Hot Shot is about basketball, with almost not much romance, but hilarious, In A Good Way does not really follow your criteria, but it’s a coming-of-age drama, Love, Timeless best friend turned lovers, with a little bit of co-habitation. KO Series again, none of them meets your criteria, but the stories surround people with special abilities and its funny too, but just watch until KO3anguo, i find the subsequent dramas in the series not as good as the first three. however, for KO series, the second and third seasons have pretty long episodes counts, it may get draggy, but its still good imo. and i think you should watch the first one to get the context of the drama. however you watch for the second and third season doesnt really matter

right!!!! they had a novel for this drama with slightly different plot, and it ended waaaay better than the drama itself.

book talks about how that phone call chenche received in 1989 on his smartphone was actually from zhenzhen, and the friends actually still keep in contact with one another, just that in order to not change the future, they chose not to let chenche know. long story short, zhenzhen actually ends up dying, and the novel ended sadly, but we had an ending….

Don’t say sorry at all, thank you soo much for all the names! <3 I have watched one episode of lion prides, the story is a bit like drinking solo, the Korean drama? But the premise is fun and I loved the camaraderie between the hero and that prosecutor lol. Will have to keep it on my list then I guess. 😀 I'm also interested in 'Back to 1989', I hope this is not a cryfest? :S Both the leads are looking fine so I hope I would be able to connect since that was something I failed to do in my previous ventures. 😅
I watched 'in a good way' like two years back, the overall tone was really good and I liked the main leads, but then I read spoilers about the ending and got to know they didn't end up together. :/ But really loved the heroine's home/cafe.

Yeah I really liked the shows you mentioned. And tbh, it is really rare to find a good tw show that is able to be that good for all of it’s run. They tend to drag and their ending seemed to be very very disappointing. But even so, I still enjoyed the dramas I recommended. Plus I ended shipping the main couple in 1989 and IAGW…

I’m not sure we can be Beanie friends if you didn’t like Bromance. LOL!!

in defense for bromance, the female lead is meant to be androgynous for reasons~

LOL! I must admit I could barely go through the first episode when some beanie recommended it to me, but seeing your posts made me go back to it (to no avail, though, I dropped it on ep 3)

Okay, I’m going to try and be friends with you.

        LOL!

Not every drama is for everyone, I have (tenuous, LOL!) friends who don’t like Coffee Prince or Secret Garden. And they must die. HAHAHAHA! 😉

Hahahahaha! Honestly, I think there’s something with Taiwanese dramas that doesn’t click with me…Chinese dramas as well, I always start them, but can’t seem to finish them (with few exceptions, and mainly because of Jiro Wang, heh)
Agree with you, there are many, many dramas people love that I just don’t get…but that’s the beauty of dramaland, I guess, always something for everyone!

Same! Haha! Moderflapper made me watch Bromance, rolled my eyes at the shooting scene (first episode), cringed at the end of episode two (childhood connection & the hairclip lol) watched until half of episode 3 and finally gave up and dropped it. It’s just too cliche for my liking. Leads chemistry are off the charts though.

That’s exactly where I stopped! I don’t think I made it to half the 3rd episode, though lol
And definitely, those 2 truly are amazing and I totally buy the attraction…it’s a shame the drama is just badly written!

Hahaha, LOL I hope we can! 😀
Ok, I have no problem with androgynous look really haha, but the thing is I didn’t get the attraction part between the leads. ‘You are beautiful’ was my first Korean drama, so the incognito trope is something I really love, but while JGS and PSH looked awesome in my eyes, the leads in Bromance didn’t. :/ Also, don’t kill me 😀 but I didn’t like coffee prince either, simply because gong yoo and YEH just didn’t click for me. So to me, more than the story the chemistry between the leads is important which I didn’t find in either bromance or coffee prince. But on the drama where I saw Baron Chen first, ‘fated to love you’, I loved him there since the chemistry was kind of good between him and Joe Chen. 😂🙈 So it has more to do with my dysfunctional brain, rather than with the dramas at all. 😁

LOL! Everyone has different tastes, and that’s the way it should be. While it’s always disappointing when someone doesn’t like what I like, it’s all good. I love what I see as the chemistry between Baron Chen and Megan Lai, but if it’s not what you see, then it’s fine. You just need to have your eyes checked – Just kidding, lol! It’s all fine.

I loved Coffee Prince for reasons I can’t put into words, it’s just a drama that works for me.

couldn’t tolerate bromance! its like mindless teen drama where you just want to see physical contacts because you have just entered that phase where hormones act up….. that’s just my perception of that drama.. nothing against those who like it..

Devil beside you is another recommendation, i have never understood..

    ***********

watch ariel lin’s and bolin’s drama.. its really really nice..

if you want romance (again mindless but there is something about itazura na kiss).. watch it started with a kiss..

infact their version of boys over flowers is also good.. meteor garden..
    or Mars..

amongst the new ones.. haven’t been keeping up.. but mostly slew of bad ones

My daughters HATED Meteor Garden, to the point where they refused to let me watch it.

All versions r better than boys over flowers for me… meteor garden also has two parts..the second part..dont even think of starting..

I watched it for vic zhou ..you can check his other drama..something like black…he plays a detective i think

In defense of “Bromance”, I disagree with the what you mentioned about physical contact – the physical contact is not “teen sexual”, to me it’s tenderness and caring, intermixed with some sexual tension yes. The only OVERT sexuality is in a couple of makeout scenes taht are mild compared to a lot of what I see in movies.

Bromance, to me, is one of the most adult dramas I’ve seen, thematically. The main couple stands by each other, supports each other, and loves each other despite what may be a social taboo. The reason why the secret has to be maintained may be stupid, but it’s handled with dignity and not in a juvenile manner.

      Just my opinion.

Seconding the In Time With You recommendation! It’s mature, nuanced, and has very compelling characters (though the second leads aren’t very likeable).

Try “Just You” ~ cohabitation hijinks and bickering abounds ~ it’s adorable!!!

I enjoyed Just You, but I felt the female lead was annoying in the beginning. And her high pitched voice! 🙉
