I’ve just marathoned all four subbed eps of Pretty Noona and I’M IN LOVE WITH THIS SHOW. It’s so leisurely paced, which makes it feel so much like real-life too. Like, it’s not rushing to the next plot point because there is a story arc that needs to be covered. It just feels realistic, in a way. Plot may be thin but I’ve always been fond of slice-of-life/slice-of-life-feeling shows. Moreover, I love how it shows the injustices and inequality and harrassment females experience, not only at work and DOUCHENUGGET MEN but from their own family (GLARING AT YOU, JIN-AH’S MOTHER) as well. It’s so maddening GAAAAAAHHHH. I hope there are MEN in Korea watching this show because YOU HAVE TO SEE HOW TOXIC EVERYTHING IS FOR WOMEN (and for men too, indirectly because you’re forced to be a sangnamja whatever). But I love how Jin-ah is starting to fight too. ATTAGIRL. I hope every female who’s watching this show can find the courage to fight too. And of course, Jung Hae-in is killing me with his character being so helplessly in like/love LIKE HELLO it’s a wake-up call that this is still fiction HAHAHA

This is my first PD Ahn drama and I now get what people are saying about his directorial talent. It’s so classy, it doesn’t feel rushed, every shot is beautiful but it feels effortless, like, it wasn’t planned. Like, sometimes this is just how pretty life around you can be. Moreover, there’s this scene in episode 4 where it’s all quiet and you just hear the sound of the waves in the ocean in the background and AAAAAAAAAAAAAA I JUST LOVE THAT SMALL BIT SO MUCH

Anyone watching too? I need to talk about it some more!
