I’m not Indian, but I do watch Bollywood (and some independent Indian cinema) films whenever I can. I would like to watch more, but it’s hard to find a lot of films. I’m also old fashioned, so I’m not big on watching things online or downloading. If you have any good recommendations, I’ll gladly consider them! 🙂
I can’t say that I am a fan, but I have watched a number of SRK films. I do like Randeep Hooda and (I would like to watch Do Lafzon Ki Kahani) and Aamir Khan.
This is a cute story with folkloric elements. It’s set in Rajasthan and depicts the love story between a young wife and the spirit who takes on the physical form of her husband. As expected, some conflict arises, but there is a surprise to the ending. I must admit, one element about the ending does bother me, but I won’t spoil anything. The story also explores the importance of desire and love in marriage. It takes into account the feelings of the woman and how those feelings should not be ignored or taken for granted.

Every-so-often, I re-watch this film with my sis! 🙂
Paheli (2005), starring Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerjee. I haven’t seen the 1973 original.
