And it really pained me to see SC crying and struggling with him throughout the whole scene. But I wanted to see it from DMS’s perspective – he’s used to getting what he wants just like that and our girl is the complete opposite. She’s spunky and a complete fighter, not afraid of him or his money. Very attractive traits for sure, but he’s having a hard time because of that. Add to that the fact that she looks like she likes his best friend would have been a big blow as well. So I guess what I’m saying is that this whole scene made me realize how far DMS is from the perfect guy he thinks he is and how much character development we can expect from him. The way he stopped in the middle of it and promised not to hurt her again is already indicative of that – that he is /capable/ of having that big of a change. Now I’m just excited to see that come to fruition.
That was tough to watch. She looked genuinely frightened. I thought he was mainly driven by anger and his possessive nature, plus hormones. The scene made it perfectly clear that forcing a kiss is NOT romantic, which I thought was good. I still need him to apologise for it though.
I like this updated version so far because of the promise of character development too.
OMG, I thought the show will scrap that scene!!
I thought Dao Ming-si in this version will be better than the 2001 one. VIU only gave me 2 episodes today. From the first episode when he throw the food at Sanchai I could see regrets on his face, it’s better than the previous version of Dao Ming-si.
Ugh, I like the first two episodes, I hope DMS will apologize to Sanchai and the show runner stop copy paste from the old one.

So far I like this Dao Ming-si more, and yes, that scene showed him as quite flawed although you can see he regretted it.
Yes! I saw someone on twitter saying something like, “hey, forced kisses are not romantic. They shouldn’t make it like that.” I wanted to say back that, yeah it wasn’t. She felt violated and he felt bad about it. But yes, I’m waiting for the apology as well. Hoping it comes in ep 5.
