Life: what a roller coaster ride of an episode.
First, the Chairman is one nasty piece of work. The moment when he barged into Seung-hyo’s office unannounced sent chills down my spine. I was genuinely scared for his safety. Seeing Seung-hyo sat in fear and worry when the chairman was threatening the doctors and their families made my heart hurt for him. I can’t wait to see this major a-hole gets what he deserves at the end, because he should be punished. Please.
Second, my poor Seung-hyo. My bias for Jo Seung-woo makes me root for his character since the drama started, but this week’s episodes definitely give me all the reasons to justify that. Haha. I think we understood that it was not easy for him to get to where he is now with those hints about his scholarship background and the past conflicts with other CEOs, but this episode puts that in a whole different light. And just let me praise [re: fangirl-ing over] Jo Seung-woo’s performance a little bit bc damn isn’t he amazing. Every minute changes in expressions and body language of Seung-hyo in this episode drawn me in and shred my heart into pieces.
Third, I definitely applauded Jin-woo’s bullheadedness in his pursuit of justice. But I have a feeling he’s going to learn the hard way that getting rid of Seung-hyo might just speed up his own demise rather than saving the hospital and the other doctors. I wish these two would team up to bring down the chairman rather than pushing the other off. I mean, I get it. Seung-hyo wanting to fire the four musketeers is a gesture to appease the chairman bc losing your job is still better than losing your life. But that is misleading from the doctors’ perspective since they have no idea the chairman is the real threat. Can someone, anyone, lock Seung-hyo and Jin-woo in a room together so they can talk it out, please?! For our collective sanity.
Lastly, my shipper’s heart is a little chipped after today’s episode. No-eul sees the good in Seung-hyo since the beginning, and their interactions are like the small bursts of sunshine in this otherwise bleak world. But she, like Jin-woo, doesn’t know what the chairman can do and is already threating to do to them. Sighhhhh. Seung-hyo isn’t going to sit these two down and explain to them how dangerous things are, is he? Is it too much to ask them to team up a la the Avengers to take down the chairman?
