At first glance, I thought they were curry puffs – a deep fried short crust pastry filled with curried potato and meat. The sides are folded in the same way.
Polish version of dumplings! Ahh yes, you’re talking of samosa? I crimped them the same way so they do look similar to Asian style pastries, or rather your classic Cornish pasty.
Not exactly samosa but very similar. Samosas are Indian whereas curry puffs are…actually I have no idea what’s the exact origin. It’s probably Southeast Asian. Since it’s quite a melting pot here, we can get enjoy food from different cultures.
I’ve yet to try pierogis from an authentic eatery, but the recipe was super fun and easy to follow, and the end result, delicious! Made a large batch for the freezer – happy days!

Yes, it does seem so. It does offer a good balanced meal if you put in meat, vegetables and you get carbs and protein. Not to mention – yummy!
