    Just Between Lovers!

You said vote but if I were to watch them again I would do it in this order: BTLIOF, Misaeng, AoY, Prison Playbook, LoM, and then Witch’s Court. Just so I could have some happy in between the sad. Either way you go, they were all good so you really can’t go wrong😊

I’m probably not a good judge as my taste looks to be much different from others. But I watched most of these because of the fan wall hype, and the only one I liked was LoM. And the wardens parts of PP.

I’ve actually seen the first episode of Prison Playbook and it didn’t really interest me that much. But people keep raving about it so I thought I had to go back. It’s nice to have a minority opinion so I can check my expectations.

I have been discovering lately that I don’t do well with most slice of life dramas. And the episodes were so so SO long I nearly dosed off at the middle of every episode. But the wardens were adorable.

Prison Playbook gripped me from ep 3 onwards.

Depends on what you’re in the mood for. None of these will give you the same unique viewing experience you had with Risky Romance (though what can?), but you could add Devilish Joy to your schedule if you would like to be bored.

Anyway, I always say BTLIOF because I love Se-hee. However, Life on Mars is really good if you want something heftier while still having some fun. But, if you need something melo this time around, JBL is the way to go. Have you seen My Ahjussi? If not, that’s the one.

*nods seriously* I was considering adding Devilish Joy to my live-watch schedule because I thought it may replace the gaping hole in my schedule left by the loss of Risky Romance. However, I’m now getting the impression it’s boring as well as terrible so will opt out.

I have seen My Ahjussi and it was the top-shelf single malt or aged Grange Hermitage of 2018. I’m a bit melo’d out after the debacle that was Time so it sounds like BTLIOF or LoM are it.

“Hey, did you know that May is obsessed with The Guest?”
“No, I did not! She’s so quiet about it.”
“ikr, none of us had a clue!”
      Speak up, May!

I did, doing and keep doing it in the future , but was caught up in RL stuff and as a proof of my obsession you can see my comments on the recap which I never do unless I’m obsessed with the drama I’m watching and for the first time of my drama watching history I learned how to make gifs and posted some of them .
Besides I never stop talking others into watching it on DB or rabbit 😀😀😉😉😉😉

Just Between Lovers is my favorite on that list. It took up all my headspace when I watched it. I really like all the others but Witch’s Court isn’t as good as the rest on the list. The acting in Witch’s Court is the best part, it’s just not as well written as the others.

    1. BTLIOF—but I think you might hate the last 2 episodes, but then you can see why @mindy is gaga over LMK.

    2. LIVE—why is this not on your list? Best ensemble drama this year in my opinion.

Live is not on my list because I ran out of list. I shall register your vote. I have been warned about the final two episodes of BTLIOF. I know a lot of people were annoyed by them. I shall temper my expectations.

I didn’t think they (the last 2 eps) were bad at all. One of my favorite scenes is in the last episode. And I enjoyed the entire drama. One day, I’ll do a rewatch with my husband who hasn’t seen it.

Hands down, Prison Playbook. A good dose of laughter, fun, bromance, and tears for the next 16-ish hours.

Haha… though tbh, I barely noticed the looo~ng 1,5 hours furation per eps.

I noticed the long eps, because my family won’t leave me alone for more than an hour a day, and when I watch a tvn drama (which is frequent) I have to preface my watching with, “I’m watching a tvn drama, so it’ll be more than a hour before I can sure you’re all still breathing!” And I still get interrupted. Which is why I couldn’t recommend Prison Playbook above the others. LIVE kept me engaged for the entire 1+ hours more than PP.

I don’t even get one straight hour. I usually pause a lot during each episode.

The first time broadcasters announced airing dramas with two half-hour episodes I was very skeptical. But I watched two/four episodes of Look Out and I fell in love with the new format. It was like the writer and the director were telling me very considerately: hey you can pause here!

It has gotten to a point where I have started checking if upcoming dramas are in half-hour format. Take a hint tvn…

I mean a 24-episode drama doesn’t daunt me half as much as a tvn 16-episode one. I guess the balance of setup, narration, and cliff hanger in an hour is more to my taste than in an hour and half.

Wow! I’m so sorry! Why did this turn into such a long rant!

Honestly depends on your mood and it doesn’t help that all the dramas were all good. I love slice of life dramas so I’ll vote AoY (there’s nothing boring about AoY though but still) from your current list but I understand some might find it boring, so my next option is LoM.
LoM is thrilling, well paced and just about right. The cast were amazing.
JBL can make you feel giddy while it simultaneously tears your heart apart.
Witch Court’s is a fun watch. It’s not brilliant but it’s entertaining so I’d recommend that if you won’t want anything serious.
PP is also amazing but it’s a Slice of Life (so I LOVED Itx and it is very long (which I LOVED)
BTLIOF – I change my mind. I vote this! It’s well paced, has great characters, has romance, no heavy heartbreaks or terrible hair-pulling (except some scenes in the last episodes but they’re bearable) and it’s a lot of fun. Lee Min Ki was a treat in it.
(I know this might not be helping but watch LIVE or AoY)

Definitely Age of Youth if you’re looking for a youth drama with mystery and comedy plus slice of life! :)))))))))))

I’ve seen all seven of them (and loved every single one of them) so all of the above? One ep/genre a day! 😀
But I’m biased so my vote goes to JBL.

    6.AOY season 1!
    7. Um ‘Flower boy next door’, maybe? It’s a feel good, fun 17 episode drama. ^^

Also do watch ‘splash splash love’, if you haven’t yet. It’s a two-episode drama with kim seul gi and do joon. It’s the cutest and the chemistry is to die for!

I would start with Nr 7: Live. Why isn’t that on your list? That’s been my favourite drama of the year so far. I absolutely loved it. Also, my favourite couple of the year (who are not the OTP, just to clear that up). That drama is satisfying from start to finish – which is very rare.

Otherwise, BTLIOF and JBL are both very good. JBL looks beautiful and deals with the aftermath of trauma in a sensible way. But if that’s too melo for you, maybe after Your Honor , you want to see Mr Nice Guy lawyer in a relationship with Esom? They were great in BTLIOF. Esom’s character is kick-ass and my hero in that drama. There’s a punch to make it on your ‘most satisfying use of physical violence’ list.

I vote PP if you liked Reply 88. If you didn’t watch it, that trumps all others.
I vote JBL if you liked Come Hug Me even though I didn’t finish either.
I vote BTLIOF if you like fake indie smart movies.
