The only thing that seem out of place in Matrimonial Chaos is the side story about hwi-roo’s sister and her roommate. Why do I need to watch them? How’s their story going to affect our main lead?
Based on the hints dropped so far, I have a strong suspicion that Maroo (Hwiroo’s sister) is actually gay based on the chemistry with her friend/room-mate, and the writer may explore a lesbian relationship? I haven’t watched the original Japanese version so I don’t know if these two characters exist there as well.
I’m more inclined that they are gay couple. Otherwise, I don’t see why we need more than 5 minutes in each episode watching their interaction. The thing is, it’s kdrama on KBS, so I’m not sure.

Maybe they’re here to portray the relationship of two other people who live together ?

I thought so too but I don’t know if the writer will go that route.

Yeah the fact that it’s airing on a public channel might explain why they won’t be openly addressed as a gay couple.
