Read on Facebook this morning:
“Tonight feels like the combination of Christmas eve, or the night before a colonoscopy.”
Which pretty much sums up the feeling for everyone living in the US.
So I’m going to put my head in a drama and wait until morning.
But I voted to be sure! BLUE always!

thank you – I’m grateful to live in a democratic land and tell everyone that it is our duty to vote.
If you don’t vote – you can’t complain!

That is the most perfect description ever.

I’m grateful I had my boxing class and dramas to distract me and keep me from being glued to the news tonight. I actually voted early because I had no time today. I realize I’ve never voted on election day. I wanted to this year but I had an early court call and a ton of work this week, so I decided to take the time last weekend.

Now I just need to not stress eat all the calories I just burned.

Isn’t that the best description ever? I’ve been quoting it all day! Thank goodness I live in Oregon which is a rather blue state. And I happen to live in a very progressive county.
Still, it was so cool to see people getting out of their cars at the courthouse to drop off their ballots.
This is one of the few times I miss living in Minnesota where we went down the street to the local fire station and would stand in line to cast our ballots. Today would have been a good day to stand in line. (unlike GA where the power went out and all the voters who just happened to be predominately black – waited FOUR hours to vote!) arghhh

Oh man, I saw that about GA. And their machines are most definitely compromised and that piece of s*** Kemp did nothing.

I live in Chicago which is always slightly corrupt but also very liberal. It’s a weird mix. also, the entire state is red, except Chicagoland area, which is blue and where the majority of the population lives. I was just telling my mom that I don’t really care that the better candidate for gov is still totally terrible, because IL will just always have corrupt governors, it’s our thing. (I mean, obviously we want the less corrupt of the two, but I’ma call a spade a spade.) I’m more concerned with judicial retention, because that’s the one thing that’s so hard to research unless you’re actually a lawyer. Which I am, but my practice is more in federal than state court. There are some super shady judges and I really hope that some are unseated this year.

oh dear, you remind me of when I was in MN and Jesse Ventura ran for gov. You remember that? that was when the phrase rather than ‘the lesser of two evils’ it was now the ‘evil of two lessors’, and I voted for that nimrod.
When tRump was elected all I could say was ‘remember Ventura?”.
The judicial retention is scary and I’m not even a judge but after that supreme court fiasco, I get pretty nervous about the stake of things. I’m glad there are people like you still in the system.
          hwaighting!!!!!

I’m calling him tRump from here on out. I mostly call him that man. Or the orange nightmare. I voted, blue-naturally, but Ky is so completely red. My city is the lone spec of blue in the whole damn state. SIGH. I hear people talk about tRump all the time with derision but I’m always like: YOU PEOPLE VOTED FOR HIM. THIS IS YOUR FAULT.

@isthatacorner tRump is much nicer than anything I call him.

But my names aren’t meant for polite company.

@isa I’m not a serial killer I’m just really passionate about things – the other name I like for him is:
            Agent Orange
For those of us who remember the Vietnam war era, that name has special significance. And he certainly fits the bill.
            ugh – politics…..

Boxing – that sounds like a great stress reliever! Maybe I should find a class – I’m all out of bushes and trees to prune down to their nubs.
*but they are happier, believe me*

It’s really cathartic. I just started in September but it was the best decision I’ve made in a long time. I hate working out and I hate most classes, but this one works for me. The hour goes by fast, hitting things without consequences is fun, and I get a full body workout to boot.

The funny part is that the only other remotely workout-y thing I’ve ever been able to commit to is yoga. This is so different, yet it also feels the same, mentally, in a lot of ways.

@snarkyjellyfish – good morning. How did things turn out election-wise in your neck of the woods? Nice to wake up to the election news as it is.

I skipped my usual new this morning in favor of drama. But from what I gathered last night, we flipped at least one major county and finally got a new governor, which means we’ll probably have state budgets again. (Literally. Our last governor didn’t set a budget for like 3 years until the state Senate stepped in. Pretty sure I lost a few job opportunities because of that.)

Happy about the House, disappointed about the Senate, GA, FL, and TX races, but happy that they happened and were at least close races.

Still not sure if there’s a light at the end of this tunnel, but the darkness just got a bit less terrifying.

Me as well. I left work, voted and am now looking for a drama to watch. Avoidins TV as all are news cycles tonight.
