I have had many fine people walking in front of me (some would argue too many) but never any following. Thank you @leetennant, @rukia, @sicarius, and @neener for volunteering to be the followers of Doom. Thank you for the warm Beanie welcome and also, first official fanwall post, honk honk!

I have been a big fan of your work, but that you still have that gif as your header really disappoints me. I know you consider that your finest acting moment, but I think it’s very callous of you to inflict this moment of intense drama trauma on Beanies.

Drama watchers have become desensitized to a certain extent to the ubiquity of truck on human violence. More so in this time of international drama fervor, the availability of clips, and gifs. These scenes are played over and over, thus normalizing the pancaking of beautiful people in the middle of the road. Some like to blame the slow moving humans who stand unmoving in Truck’s path, but victim-blaming just perpetuates the problem and diverts attention from the true culprit.

I realize you are an actor of great skill, and take care to portray your parts with both fervor and finesse. I honesty believe your cameo in About Time was one of your finest moments on camera. However, inflicting your most explicitly brutal piece of acting on Beanies, day after day, seems cruel and needlessly insensitive to me.

Therefore, unless you change your header, and issue an apology to Beanies I will not be following you TOD.

Also, I’m still a bit peeved at you calling Guyliner a D-lister. His turn on Lee Min Ki, Ji Sung, and so many more has provided more aesthetic pleasure than your brute violence ever will.

Maybe I’m just callous or maybe it’s a defense mechanism but the gif in the header made me laugh. Calling Guyliner a D-lister is definitely uncalled for, though.

Guyliner is at least a B-lister.

My buddy Guyliner and I are actually both embracing the D-lister label for the reason following: for years there was talk about a Korean adaptation of the American hit reality show “My Life on the D-List” so GL and I were actively campaigning to be casted. Ultimately the production company did see either of us Kathy Griffin-esque enough. Now it is just a inside joke between us.

But @egads, @mindy, and @ndlessjoie, you are absolutely right. Hyung’s career has taken off much more than mine, he certainly has found his way onto many beautiful faces. Me? I still get stuck smashing them.

See now here is evidence that you and Guyliner have internalized the prejudices and erroneous preconceptions about you both. While I understand the career and financial driven reasons for pitching a Korean version of a successful American reality show, I believe that both of you have the intelligence and creativity to dream and build your own unique project(s). Of course you weren’t Kathy Griffin-esque enough. Though she is at time humorous, she has neither the breadth or depth of talent of either you or Guyliner.

I realize that systemic prejudice is an almost insurmountable hurdle, but perhaps you might consider it more a speed bump or pothole. I hope you will gas up your tank and Guyliner will sharpen his lead, so that you can both find ways to showcase and market your versatile skills for a wide audience to enjoy.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, @egads. You know what is ironic? I am in essence a pacifist, so your accusation of callousness hits home. However when I made my decision to take up this line of work, I was fully aware that my various interpretations as the harbinger of death would spark negative reactions just as any good villain does. #shinsungrok But I was hoping that my drama presence even if it does not inspire warm feelings at least it will spark conversations like any worthy work of art does. I see my work as a manifestation of the brutalist architectural movement. It is cold and unappealing, but it is a direct reaction to all other frivolous K-drama tropes and to some extent, critique to many disturbing political movements in the world today.

The fact that one of my works is now on constant replay on my wall is not for the purpose of normalizing violence, but to accentuate the fleeting nature and the vulnerability of of human lives no matter how beautiful that person may be. I appreciate your acknowledgement for the value of my works, but I do ask that you can grant me my freedom of expression on my own profile page, just like I respect your decision not to follow me.

      Sincerely, ToD

This is amazing. This is, honestly, the best thing that I’ve seen all week. And I work in entertainment. My God, who do I call to get a TV show about the underbelly of life as an overused TV drama trope?

Thank you @neener! I sure hope so too. Sometimes it does feel like it is impossible not to be typecast, especially it is literally embedded in my name.

Welcome! I think your crowning achievement might have been the double ToD in the drama Switch. You and your twin were ultimately unsuccessful, but you did make me catch my breath and then laugh for a good 5 minutes.

Thank you @ndlessjoie for your kind comments regarding my work in Switch. I thought my dual role provided a nice parallel to Jang Keun-suk’s Do-chan and Joon-soo. Inflicting death upon a main character was never this much fun!

Welcome dearest ToD. Because of you i always make sure to triple check before crossing the street especially when my life is bland or if my life story is in need of shaking things up or of closure.

Thank you @justme! I am glad to be the initiator of some forward momentum to the plot of your own personal story, but most important of all, bringing awareness to the importance of pedestrian safety.

Dear ToD, while we’re chatting there is something I’ve always wanted to ask you.
Where were you in the Legend of the Blue Sea?
    We were waiting.

      Dear @leetennant,

I have a confession to make…..I think I might have snoozed toward the end of filming Blue Sea. I apologize to keep you waiting, but I believe that my colleague Ms. Amnesia had fulfilled the trope quota for that drama.

    I couldn’t help but follow you, @sincerelytod.
Your wit and punchy delivery leave me mesmerized, like a Rabbit Beanie in the road.
But I will follow @justme‘s example and look both ways before trying to cross the road.

Wait – as your greatest fan and defender, I didn’t get tagged? I had to find out about this second-hand?

After a pause for reflection, I’ve arrived at the conclusion that this is a sign that you are now willing and capable to explain your own actions and have – hopefully – understood that you have nothing to be ashamed of. Like any good character actor, you have hopefully embraced that you’re being type-casted a the baddie in most dramas and are becoming proud of the work that you’ve done.

Anyway, welcome to the fanwall. I hope you will continue to post images of your work that you have been particularly pleased with. I was happy to see yet another very fine performance in the recent drama series Happy to Die.

    Your uberfan, Cloggie

      Dearest @cloggie,

Embracing my onscreen identity as a villainous character that often draws merciless ridicule even from the nicest Beanies continues to be a struggle. You are the only Beanie who has truly seen me after I have shed my mask (ie wiped off the thick layer of pale BB cream) and you were still able to write such a kind message with complete sincerity….I thank you.

I am grateful for your kind and encouraging words. You are the person who pulled me into DBverse almost a year ago and it would not be possible for me not acknowledge you when I have decided to register just a few days ago!
