There are many good(?) dramas on air and yet I’m not attracted at all. I see Boyfriends’ posts everywhere and I know everything about Bo gum’s, the cutest puppy in the world, smile and the breathtaking cinematography but hmmm.. I see Jang Nara’s innocent face in videos, Hyun Bin’s hair, Kim Ji suk’s damn body, .. but no!

So I decided to rewatch My Ahjussi and godddd! What a drama! All the great feelings I had while watching it for the first time are back. “Adore” is the verb I prefer to use when I want to talk about the acting, directing, writing, make up, lighting, camera moves, shot sizes, sound editing, OSTs, costume design, … every damn thing!

All the dictionaries in the world need to be edited! They should change the definition of “gem” to “나의 아저씨”. I know I’m overreacting but I genuinely feel happy the hours I spend on watching each episode. It’s a blessing to my eyes and heart. And I do love the dramas that are filmed in winter. Those jackets, coats and scarves are able to make the characters look super confident or super miserable depend on the color and the size! Bare trees, gloomy sky, people being surrounded by an air of melancholy. These are winter’s magic!

And at the end I need to say Lee Sun kyun and IU owned my soul with those gazes. They showed the purest kind of love without shinship or words and they will be my fav for the rest of my life.

I’m the same with you on your first para tbh. I watch BF but not feeling it despite all the pretty. I’m watching MOA and not feeling it despite the pretty and AR angle. So, I abandon everything and jumps into jdrama XD

and My Ahjussi is good. Show that good, I wont mind rewatching it too.

I miss the golden days comment sections were bursting with excitment and passion like Moon Lovers days.. BTIMFL, JBL,.. I remember refreshing the page several times an hour to see if any new recap has been posted.. Now it’s just scrolling down..
I’m praying for 2019 to be a better year for kdramas. 🤞🏻🙏🏻

Agree on your whole post! My Ajusshi is just that life-changing gem that really touched me. It made me question whether I’m living the life that I wanted or am i just going along the waves. It made me realize that at the end of the day, we all want to be loved and accepted, and that it never hurts to be kind to others. There’s no use in staying in a group (or company) whom you know doesn’t have your back.

Some of my quotable quotes from the show were the following: (I even have it posted on my closet as an everyday reminder)
    1. “If you don’t consider it to be important, then other people won’t either. And if you consider it to be serious, then others will think of it that way too. That’s how everything works. You’re the one who decides that.”- Dong Hoon
    2. “What happened in the past is no big deal. If you consider it to be a not big deal, then it’s not a big deal.”- Dong hoon
    3. “Live a happy life. That’s how you repay the people in your life.” – Grandma. (♥️♥️♥️)
    4. “Live happily and comfortably.”- Gyeom-duk
    4. “May you hang in there until you find comfort for yourselves.”- cast and crew

      It’s pure gem.
I just loved every single of the quotes you wrote. That’s the beauty of this drama, so many touching dialogues that can teach a life lesson. I do feel better about myself after watching it because now I look at things differently. I behave differently. I feel differently. It wasn’t just something to entertain. It has so many messages.
