I am in need of a nice rom-com. No convoluted triangles, no extended noble idiocy, and preferably no shouty parents. Drama, movie, Korean or other, please share your favorites.
To All the Boys I Loved: adorable movie with the bonus of long time crush John Corbett playing dad
Set it Up: how have I missed a rom com with Taye Diggs and Lucy Lui? Thanks! This is exactly what I was looking for, but apparently my Netflix algorithm is wack so they have not pushed it to me.
Oh My Venus: pure fluff, sometimes didn’t make sense, but who cares because So Ji Sub. (I don’t like the last scene though, so I pretend it didn’t happen)
I remember having mentioned this, but did you try the anime Lovely Complex? Idk why I like it so much: it’s about a tall girl who likes a shorter boy but he can’t seem to see her as a girl. She doesnt give up (shes not like the playful kiss heroine)
Richard Armitage is in the last season of Vicar of Dibley. Not necessarily a romantic show but a fun show with a delightfully eccentric cast of characters.
If you ever read contemporary romance Act Like It by Lucy Parker has a hero that reads like Richard Armitage. It’s hard not to picture him.
Kimi ni Todoke: bookmarked for later
A Love so Beautiful: it IS sweet
I love all things Gaskell. The world needs more Gaskell adaptations, and a Gaskell biographical miniseries. She was an interesting woman.
As Time Goes by: I think I watched this years ago, but maybe it’s time for a rewatch. Maybe it’s time to rewatch lots of British shows.
Perhaps this would be a good time to watch Sassy Go Go which is one of my favorite fluff dramas! The OTP is absolutely adorable and winning. This drama make Lee Won-geun my eternal puppy!
No noble idiocy. There is a mild love triangle but it is well done and resolved with some satisfying heart pang. I don’t think there are shouty parents but a couple of mean mom.

To All The Boys I Loved.
Damnit if that was not a great film.
Also, Set It Up. That one was cute as well.
Easy, breezy and funny.

Agree with To All the Boys I’ve Loved before. I’m just finishing Oh My Venus, it’s almost drama free. Very cute.

It’s on my list but I really just don’t like Shin Min Ah. Maybe I should watch that this weekend instead of boring myself with Rooftop Prince.

Dramabeans should have a Richard Armitage tab. He seems to be Beanie favorite.

Some of these have been mentioned often so apologize if you’ve mentioned watching them before.
Kimi ni Todoke the like action was really cute.
A Love So Beautiful just sweet.
North and South a great winter watch. All the BBC Gaskell adaptations really.
As Time Goes By the TV series. Love this so much. Really wonderful second chance romance.

20th Century Boy and Girl! Sweet friends-to-lovers romance. Great group of girlfriends. Love triangle was mild.
