Can you imagine just how crazy I’d be right now if I hadn’t have taken a post-Chuseok hiatus? I mean… my current level of crazy x1000.

I honestly don’t know how you did that. I only finished 7 2018 dramas and dropped 18.

I managed to drop dramas at the end of this year. It’s a new thing I’m trialling. I still remember gritting my teeth and forging stoically towards the end of Switched, About Time, Cross and Jugglers even though they objectively sucked. But my pathological need to finish is just too much. I’m just glad I’m Learning to Drop.

How about two months of “I won’t watch Evergreen anymore, it is boring and pointless, oops I watched Evergreen”.

I was so surprised when I saw that I dropped so many shows, but somehow finished Evergreen. Was it an especially slow drama time? Ok, that’s my story. Sticking to it. Disregarding any information to the contrary

It was. And the timeslot was midweek. Which meant that after work on a Tuesday and Wednesday when you were looking for something mindless, Evergreen was there waiting for you. In all its soporific glory.

If they doing our bean counts for dropped dramas, bet our numbers wont be too shabby. lol

Sorry, this is a joke about the fact that I need like 8 hours every night and people complain I’m always trying to get to bed even if it’s really early. I love my sleep. I was watching a normal amount of dramas but I’m a pathological finisher and then in May or June I got a bad flu and picked up every airing drama. At one point I was watching 10 and over June/July I managed to finish about 20 dramas. That’s why I took a post-Chuseok hiatus for new shows – I was flipping exhausted.

That’s quite a feat.. i saw a few other beanies had a high bean-count as well and i’m just amazed. There was a time last year when I watched 7-8 dramas at the same period and I rushed home everyday to catch up on my shows..what a life! I’m not judging your drama-watching at all, do what you enjoy and take a break when you need to 🙂

There was a point in August where it was almost like work. “Oh God, I still have four episodes of [insert show] to watch” *trudges off wearily to television*. It’s why I only picked up one show in October/November.

Did you finish My Dear Boy? I had so much fun snarking with you!

I did finish it. What a disappointment! That show started off so well. Did you get to the end too?

Man, I didn’t even count Chinese and Taiwanese shows. I also finished Moonshine and Valentine and that was hilariously awful. And I took a detour into Thai BL as well.

I dropped MDB around episode 14 I think…I became impatient with the fact that the Boy wasn’t becoming a man fast enough for me.

I have not watched any Thai BL but heard good things about “Love By Chance.” Have you seen it? What would you recommend?

I haven’t seen Love By Chance. I got a bit BL’d out. If you want to watch specifically Thai BL, watch Lovesick. The first season is now on Netflix. It’s the first one and all the others are just variations of it mostly. Until Netflix posts season 2 we won’t have decent subs for all of it though.

You’re lucky you dropped MDB. It really went off the rails. He did eventually grow up – off screen. In fact, everything happened off screen. It was woeful.

I have not seen any Thai dramas before, but Lovesick being on Netflix sure makes it easy to check out! Thanks for the rec, Chingu!
