I’m emotionally exhausted from watching this show in the best way possible, so I will keep my goodbyes brief.
Thank you, Dance Sports Girls, for being the best high school drama I have seen, giving me one of my favorite messy, flawed heroines, one of the best mother-daughter relationships, some of the most endearing friendships, and for being one of the most accurate depictions of youth and growing up that I have ever seen. Teenagers and their thoughts and fears are much more complex than fictional portrayals often give them credit for, and this one knocked it right out of the park.
But most importantly, thank you for making me happy and for giving me this little piece of fantasy that is so steeped in reality. You inspired me.
And last but not least… WHERE IS THE SHOW PAGE? I need to add this to my favorites list ASAP!!!
I’ve dropped it after ep 1 mainly because of the mother, I dislike domestic violence disguised as a joke. Does she become a nice mother instead of that woman that hits her daughter with a spoon and yells and throws things in her face and hits her with a backpack?
I loved how their relationship wrapped up in the final episode. Everything that Mom said to her in the past suddenly made so much sense, and I felt just as young and naive as Shi-eun did in that moment. Of course that’s why she was against her going to college.
I think They fight so much because they’re so alike..both prickly and rough on the outside but tender inside. Both can be infuriating and stubborn at times but only because they’re afraid to show they care. That message mum sent was just love 😍😍
The love mom showed in the first was the wrong kind of love to me. Violence is not acceptable just because deep down she has love for the kid. You said they fight, but the girl is a teenager, she is not on equal grounds, it’s ok if the show acts as if it’s wrong but if it’s just a joke or ordinary, it’s sending a bad message.
It was her misguided way of protecting Shi Eun from failure, it’s sounds really strange written like this but in context watching the show make sense. I strongly recommend this show, it’s really hit the spot in presenting all the emotional turmoil of early adulthood.

This was so well done. I’m going to miss it and I’m going to look forward to the next drama by this writer.
Can you add it from the ep 1-2 recap page?

Give it another try! They have a complex relationship which you’ll get when you watch more.
