In 2018 my favorite groups were iKON and BTOB. iKON had a solid three comebacks (and broke the YG record of most comebacks ever in a year!!) and BTOB had two comebacks and the solo debut of my ultimate bias Jung Il-hoon with Big Wave! We saw iKON blow up with the legendary Love Scenario and the Return comeback was one of my favorite times of the year. This Is Us was the last comeback for BTOB as OT7 before Eun-kwang left for the military, and as most of the BIGBANG members left for the army as well, they released Flower Road, which is a very special song for VIPs. There were a few other surprise treasure songs not from the mainstream that made it on the list. Album of the Year goes to Return by iKON, and my favorite artists were Han-bin, Bobby, Il-hoon, and Min-hyuk. I would say 2018 was a year of amazing music for the kpop and khiphop scene. Happy Listening in 2019!
Seeing “She’s Gone” on the list makes my heart swell. I love that song and the whole album was amazing and I’m not lying – I’ve seen every single Ilhoon’s stage of that song. I rarely do that. (Yes, Ilhoon is my bias… 🙈)
And unexpectedly, I really like Changsub’s album too! I’ve been expecting ballads from him, but it’s more of a rock album.
Thank you for loving Ilhoon! I was super hyped for his solo debut, and I also admittedly watched every single stage. Multiple times. Ilhoon seriously has solid stage presence.
