i think i’m going to appreciate W 2 World ending more now.
how did this writer went from superb series from Queen Inhyeon Man, Nine, 3 musketeers to terrible 2nd half of W- 2World and Memories of the Alhambra mess?

I really liked “W Two Worlds”! To me, it is this writer’s best drama/work, despite the flaws. The ending in W was also good, it gave closure and a happy ending despite the bitter/sweetness of the circumstances.

Queen In Hyun’s Man was a masterpiece (as you can tell from my profile pic , I love that show) and very little has been able to top that.

QIHM has one of the worst endings EVER. 3 Musketeers was completely open-ended. And Nine was caught in a paradox. So I can only say that any ending was predictable if one is well acquainted with this writer’s works, and this was far from worst case scenario.

I’m glad there’s another person who hated QIHM. She basically threw all the rules out the window because of True Love or something. Time travel is apparently possible if you just wish really hard. Nine’s ending was garbled as hell. W made the most sense to me but then I always felt like she wasn’t trying to devise some logical explanation for what was happening anyway – it just was.

I am so so so so so glad I dropped MoTA. You have no idea how glad I am.

I liked Nine. I thought it was fitting that he kinda abused the insences so much that he practically drove himself into a paradoxical corner.

But QIHM! I was uncomfortable with the first half, bored by the second half, and HATED the ending.

I agree about W. It just was. And I liked it.

But I approached MoA accordingly. Expected it to just be, so I guess I enjoyed it much more that viewers who expected epic logical thriller.

My biggest problem – apart from the female lead making me lose the will to live – was that I couldn’t suspend disbelief because I wanted to know HOW things were happening far more than WHY.

Nononononono you are doing this wrong 😂 That is the wrong mentality to approach fantasy dramas! Just check your brain at the door, sit back and enjoy the pretty!

But come on, seriously! Signal is rated as the best drama ever among beanies and it was exactly like every other fantasy drama, had its charm, had its problems. They just made it moody and dark with a strong looking female and silent gazing male and people went crazy over it!

So, that is how I watch fantasy to enjoy. Just accept anything they throw at you.

I’m fine with straight fantasy. Bring it on. But once you’re using a computer and some lenses then I want to know HOW. If your answer is magic, then say magic. Because “game glitch” is just ridiculous.

It’s funny you should mention Signal – I loved the ending of that but a good four episodes of it were really bad. They went on and on establishing it was a closed time loop over and over again until I was yelling “yes, it’s a closed time loop I GET IT”. And then… broke the time loop somehow? It’s not even in my top 20.

Oooh my bad! You meant MoA? I thought the previous comment was about Nine! No! I agree with this one. Basing the story on Computers created logical expectations beyond fantasy dramas. I agree. Game glitch was ridiculous. Nothing was resolved.

Signal… I have always been afraid to confess on DB… I disliked it excessively. Unfortunately. Because I love time-bending themes and concepts.

Nine’s ending just confused me. I can’t even say I disliked it because I didn’t understand it. I was actually enjoying the show (apart from the female lead and her inevitable IV) until that. This writer does throw logic out the window for her endings. But what worked with me in W didn’t work in QIHM. And Nine is just… I should rewatch it someday to see if I can puzzle it out.

I didn’t dislike Signal – there was parts of it I actually really liked. But I think I fast forwarded all of episode 14 and 15. Nothing important happened, they just repeated the same plot line over and over. It’s the show that should be in a time loop, not me.

My problems with Signal were too many. I think I typed a long rant and then deleted it. 😂

But do rewatch Nine if you can. Shows with too many confusing details are the best the second time around 😍

And while we are on the subject of rewatching and loving or hating dramas, I am rewatching Jealousy Incarnate for maybe the 50th time, and I have to say this. Loving a drama has absolutely nothing to do with liking or accepting all of it. There are SO many parts of JI that I quite dislike and ff every time, but it is still one of my most favorite dramas ever and on my constant rewatch list!

I didnโ€™t like QIHM either. I remember after W an interview with the writer was posted on DB in which she admitted to not putting much thought into endings. Thatโ€™s when I knew her dramas werenโ€™t for me despite her promise to do better.

Oh wow! Really?? That is so not a good thing for a writer to confess publicly!

Three Musketeers only had an open ending because it was suppose to be three seasons and then wasn’t…I was okay with that because the ending is actually really tragic for that prince lol

I know. But even if it wasn’t supposed to be 3 seasons the open ending was done well. I only meant that this writer has a trach record of unconventional endings so I start her dramas keeping that in my mind. But I still do start them because she does many things well. She can wring my heart or make it drop like no one else can!
