My exams are over, and I have a bit of free time before the next semester starts… so naturally, I’m going to watch dramas!
So I thought, why not watch something I have been putting off for AGES? This is also where I come out and confess I haven’t watched anything in the Reply series! I know, I know. I’m incredulous myself. But the reason I’ve been putting it off is because NOTHING wrenches my gut as much as family dramas. When done well (and I’m sure Reply series do so exceedingly), the dynamics of a family and the pains of growing up just get to me in a way nothing else can. So, I knew I needed to enter this with: (1) time on my hands, so I can really immerse myself in the universe, and (2) lots and lots of tissues for the emotional torture ahead.
That being said, I’m starting off with Reply 1988…purely because it’s my favorite cast (Ryu Jun-yeol, Park Bo-gum, Ra Mi-ran, Yoo Jae-myung (!!!) to name a few). PS: I already know who she ends with. I couldn’t escape THAT spoiler (but I don’t mind tbh, because less pain). But I’m looking forward to how that’ll happen.
So for the next week or so, please enjoy (or ignore) my musings and commentary about Reply 1988.
I finally watched ’88 recently too and loved it. I also knew who she ended up with but I’m actually kind of glad because it helps you not get super attached to other possible couplings.

Maybe I should watch this with you. But I still have My Ahjusshi to finish! I think I got to ep 3-4 on this one.

Yes! That would be great.
The only thing better than dramas, is drama-watching buddies!

Try watching them in the order they came out. Reply 1997 is definitely my favorite followed by 1988.
