I can’t seem to pick up again My Strange Hero. I feel too guilty towards YSH and KDY. Y’all are good i promise… it’s just i need a better plot. But I love you sincerely as actors. Don’t hate me.

I can’t get into it right now and I think LS hates me for it even though she says she doesn’t.

*sniff* I felt that same guilt towards you for Sky Castle. I liked it. but it made me uncomfortable. and it didnt make me excited for the next ep. (except episode 19 which was… amazing).

I like SKY Castle but it’s not like I have a deep emotional connection with it or any of the actors like LS does with Boksoo.

I couldn’t press play after episode 1 of Sky Castle. I think the suicide was too much real, so maybe some other time.

We like what we like. We don’t like what we don’t like.
Except in this case when you are clearly wrong 😉
LOL, just kidding. Gosh I just love it so much though. I want the world to know my joy. But people like differently things.

That’s the thing. I want to love it cuz of the actors, but also cuz I know you love it and I love your opinion. Oh gosh, someone treat my brain.

Hey, look, I love Boksoo and I’m happy recommending it. But I’m the one who talked people into watching the utter banality that Boyfriend turned out to be so feel free to ignore me mostly. I’ve gone down enough dead-end rabbit holes trying to work out what people see in certain shows – especially people who usually like what I like.

I love having a not perfect heroine who was well thought out.

I’m in the same boat! I got to episode 6 and just….eh. I felt like problems got solved awfully easily and just needed more. I do hope to catch up on it eventually and maybe see the magic everyone else is seeing…

Oh no, they weren’t the real problems! This is a couple against the world show. So they had to be a couple.

I get that and I do love that concept, but I just needed him to process everything a bit longer. He spent 9 years hating these people and it took him very little to move on (in her case at least).

Me too! Though I like the female lead as a person, if I were Bok Soo I wouldn’t have forgiven her. It still seems harsh, no matter how old she was and no matter if she felt guilty. Im too much team boksoo i guess.

I like her, flaws and all. She feels human, but while regret and apologizes are great and do mean something, that is a lot of information for Bok-soo to take in. I wanted him to take some time to reconcile what he knew all this time with the new information he just learned from her and then accept the apology. I didn’t need it to be dragged out for 5 more episodes, but more than 5 minutes would have been nice..lol

How many eps of My Strange Hero did you watch?

Not sure. I fall asleep and fast forward through most of them. I may have skipped one. Idk. But I do agree about Bok Soo being a good guy. It’s just the «school is corrupt» is a been there, done that sorta plot.

School corruption does seem to be a common drama theme. Hopefully YSH’s and KDY’s next projects will suit your taste better.

It’s true the plot is pretty well Sassy Go Go meets Angry Mum. But, then, I liked both of those things.

I was watching Angry Mom at the same time and kept on mixing up the plots 😄

Have you finished it yet? Did you like it? I haven’t seen a post about it recently I don’t think.

I had the same problem with Sassy Go Go watching it right after Angry Mum. It was like Angry Mum-lite and was missing the depth the other show had. And of course that’s the point – it’s a completely different show. If I’d known I would have waited a few months.

@crysta yes, I did finish it, I just didn’t post about it. I liked the beginning more than the end. The beginning was dark but still a lot of fun. Towards the end it was just dark without as many comic moments. I was also slightly disappointed with the ending because I didn’t like how one of the bad guys was punished or the leads’ role in it. However, I did enjoy it quite a bit. KYJ is adorable and Jisoo’s character was fantastic. I also loved the mother-daughter relationship.

I vaguely remember not liking the ending but can’t remember much on how it ended. I loved the same things you mentioned though.

I also had the same problem with the final few episodes but decided not to let it impact my overall love of it. As usual, I got the feeling the writer didn’t really know what to do with all of these people to wrap it up so it got bogged down in legal manoeuvring and court cases. And I remember the scene you’re talking about and didn’t like it either. Still, overall, I have really good memories of this and mostly loved it.
