How do people write long posts on the fan wall despite the character limit?

Write somewhere else and then copy and paste.

The key is not to just paste using the copy-paste option. For some reason, if you just ctl+V it doesn’t paste everything.
Instead, use the right-click button on the mouse, and paste as plain text. On a macbook, use the two-fingers option that brings up the same menu as the right button.

Thanks a lot, I had tried copy pasting but didn’t know that it had to be done using the mouse.

I don’t know how to do it other than using the mouse. The right click button on the mouse is gold to me as it tells me all sorts of things I can do at that spot. I don’t know how you would do this on a phone or tablet.
However I also use a Mac, and the right click button is the same as using two fingers on the pad for whatever reason.
Ah – I just looked and there is a keystroke combination to paste as “plain text” (which must remove any formatting that you copied)
          Ctrl+Shift+V

          Hope this helps

As you step up with the awesome suggestions, I just realized something, they can just get rid of the characters max.

Well, duh… but then we wouldn’t have a reason to toss this around. Now I want to know how to add images in the middle of my text.
