Hi everyone! I’m looking for some podcast feedback — so far we’ve been experimenting without asking the audience. We already cover a certain amount of ground between Long Yaks and What’s Up (airing shows, industry news, previewing upcoming shows), and we’ve got transcripts of the former (thanks to our wonderful volunteer-transcriber kdramadaydreamer). Is there anything that we’re missing that’s worth covering?

We’ve got some thoughts and ideas of our own, about new stuff we want to try, but I want to know what *you* guys want to hear, and what kind of format is most appealing, whether you want to see more guests, what other topics are you interested in us covering, and so on.

Really want to hear your thoughts – please share!

    I LOVE you guys. 😁
For thoughts – I’d love hear some thematic episodes like the “Men Behaving Badly” special, which remains my favorite Dramas Over Flowers episode.

I second this. Thematic episodes are fun.

I third the thematic episodes. Like greenfields, Men Behaving Badly is a favorite. The themes don’t need to be heavy, but you all bring such interesting and insightful thoughts when you drill into details. Maybe even devoting an entire episode to really dissecting one drama. Talk about Korean films?

Agree. If you could do a part 2, especially now with the issues surrounding Seungri/Burning Sun and SOPA.

I’m beginning to think that the Jung Joon Young + Seungri scandal might be a interesting topic to cover. There is a lot to unpack there.

Definitely right? Maybe from the pov of fans – not just the usual hallyu channels.

Definitely. They will need to try to get the most accurate reporting possible though to avoid any problems.

I agree with what @Greenfields said about the thematic episodes, I really enjoy those too.

What I would find very interesting is to explore the difference between international viewers and local viewers. Why are certain dramas hugely popular on DB that had terrible viewing ratings? INAR is one that comes to mind.

But if I think back at old DB podcasts that I liked, the ones where they snarked about terrible dramas were the ones that made me laugh the most. So if you guys want to have a monthly snarking session, I would happily listen to that.

Ah, we miss those episodes too. I don’t think our snark can quite match up to their level, but that’s basically what the Long Yak is at this point. XD But thanks for the idea. We enjoy doing thematic episodes too, and int vs local viewers is something we definitely want to explore.

I don’t know if I’m capable of high-grade snark – I peak at lowbrow humour and so-bad-they’re-good puns! I miss the old DB podcasts too. I still re-listen to them sometimes. I feel like we started this one to plug the gap for ourselves.

As the new editorial tone of this site seems to be Relentlessly Optimistic, I have snark-shaped hole in my life that I thought you guys could fill. But penguin jokes are good too

Guests can provide for interesting conversations.

Is there anyway that you guys can timestamp the Long Yaks/ongoing show recaps like on YouTube. I click it and skip stuff I’m not watching or haven’t watched yet? If it’s already available, sry.

As @greenfields and others indicated, your specials thus far were good. Would love to see more.

not specials but thematic episodes, my bad.

Hey @hades! So, the time stamps are always available in the description of any podcast app you use (or on YouTube). But when @saya or I post here, we forego the timestamps because in our head they’re already available in so many places, we assume people don’t want it shown yet again. But we’ll include it from here on. If not on the main fanwall post, then in the comment underneath it!
      Thanks for the feedback!!
