Now that I’m firmly on the Choi-Dan ship after 10 episodes, I’m re-watching their earlier scenes from Touch Your Heart/Reach of Sincerity with a more critical eye. Attorney Yeon wasn’t exaggerating when he said Dan loathed Choi. Their encounters in Ep. 4 are deeply antagonistic. Choi and Dan are in peak adversarial form, as they snipe and smirk with bottomless disdain for one another.

Their near hatred in Ep. 4 makes their current detente—and potential romance—all the more striking.

Dan yearns for fame to turn around her flagging performance at the office. Smirking, Choi is unimpressed and tells her, “”Lawyer Dan, you should just give up.”

Dan sees Choi gleefully share the good news about the TV show to mom.

Dan spits out, “You look excited.”

Choi smugly responds, “What do you mean by excited? A comrade’s sadness is our sadness.”

And when Choi is later booted off the program, Dan gives textbook Schadenfreude.

Choi rages when Dan blithely throws his words back at him: “My co-worker’s sorrow is my sorry.” She’s a little too happy.

Is it just me or did their suits start matching after a certain point… a turning point in their “relationship” perhaps? lol

But what is that lady millisecond look? Like affection, like omg, how am going to keep up this charade that I honestly abhor her when she’s hot the key to my heart? 😅

Thank you for your gifs, they’re much needed for scientific reasons ^^
Also, did you happen to notice if mom ever calls Choi or if he’s the one always calling her? There’s this telenovela where a character is always, always on the phone with her dad, but at the end we find out her dad’s been dead for years and she just wanted to pretend to be talking to him. I sometimes feel this is Choi lol, although I’m aware this is not the drama for it to happen!

Hee hee. We see both. In Ep. 1, Mom calls while Choi consults with a client. CEO Yeon overhears the conversation while skulking outside their offices as he decides who should work with Yoon Seo. Otherwise, it does seem to be Choi initiating the calls. Mom’s the first person he wants to share good or bad news with.

It would be tremendous step for uri Mama’s Boy if he turned to Dan for emotional support.

Hahaha @natzillagorilla that would be a plot twist indeed! I am hoping that if we get to see the mom, the mom who turns out to be sick of her son’s clinginess loves Attorney Dan and cannot wait for Dan to take her son away!!
