I…am disgusted. I can’t believe that the rookie group ATEEN openly talked about being sexually abused by their company’s CEO & his wife (in front of their daughter!!!), & publicly asked for help, but it failed to make much of a splash. If you guys haven’t yet, then I urge all of you to read their testimonies here: https://www.allkpop.com/article/2019/02/ateen-kpop-group-asking-for-help

I also just found out that the age of consent in Korea is 13. 13!! And that there are no laws against sexual crimes done towards males who are legally of age. To put it into perspective – the CEO & his wife in the case of ATEEN, will not/cannot be punished. Because according to the law, they have done nothing wrong, if the members are older than the international age of 19. Also, they are considered to be of age even if their 19th birthday hasn’t come to pass yet. They are considered to be 19 right from January 1st.

Nice world we live in.

I’ve been following this. It’s disappointing that none of this has made a splash amongst the kpop fandoms. They’re not famous, so no luck for them.

DKDKTV discussed this here – presenting both sides of the argument i.e what the company is saying & what the ATEEN members are saying:

You’ll find some discussion on twitter under the hashtag #JusticeForATEEN
