Omona. I’m intrigued. I want to watch Haechi after seeing the cast on running man but saeguks are not really my cup of tea. So I end up not watching. Huhuhu
Saeguks aren’t usually my thing either. I could count with one hand the saeguks I had seen. With that said, Haechi is amazing so far! The first couple of episodes are mostly setting the scene and letting the characters meet each other. Once the story kicked in, I was glued to the screen whole time. Jung Il-woo is so compelling here, such a contrasting image from how I remembered him last in Flower Boy Ramen Shop.
I randomly watched ep. 13 last week after seeing a few preview images, got hooked, and spent the following 3-4 days devouring 12 episodes. xD
In all honesty, this is one Saeguk that hasn’t caused me to lose interest at some point. One thing I really like is that this is based on a real person of history who happened to be an incredibly good king. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yeongjo_of_Joseon
Now I need to read about his son. Apparently his son was outofcontrol crazy and the only thing he could do was put him in the box to die. There is a movie but I haven’t watched it all the way through.
My point is, I like that the story is based on history – about a King who really cared for his people.
It’s quite good in other words.

Ep 15 of Haechi was so satisfying to watch! I haven’t really experience such roller coaster of emotions watching a drama since Life on Mars ended. 🥰😭
