My Fellow Citizens Ep 1 (1-2):-

I don’t normally make posts for just the first ep of a show but, I just had to for this one. I actually enjoyed it a lot. I wouldn’t say it made me laugh throughout, but it’s execution is pretty lighthearted & humorous nevertheless. The show knows that their premise is ridiculous & are not afraid to really run with it, instead of bogging the show down by trying to make it feel more real. The first ep was engaging & fun, didn’t irritate me in any way, & I actually like both of our leads, which is a very (VERY) rare occurrence in kdramaland these days. I especially love how the FL has been constructed. The show didn’t give her unrealistic character traits, such as being extremely cold, or being extremely bubbly, etc. She is just a girl-next-door who is great at her job (that happens to be that of a police officer) & has normal everyday struggles of her own, just like everyone else. Also, woot! We see her only for a few secs at the end, but I already can’t wait to see more of the villainous in the coming episodes! Man, I feel bad for the ML already. Someone book him an appointment with a cardiologist, cause oh my plant he will need it 😂

The show had me with their choice of music too, both, when they played So What by Pink as the ML sees the FL fabulously beating up three sleazebags at the club, & the outro at the end with lyrics that go “Oppa nappayo!” HAHAHA cheeky, & I love it!
