I think it’s really in poor taste, when idols (ok, it’s EXO’s Chanyeol in this case) who are already succesful and well off still accepts extravagant and expensive fan gifts, knowing how unhealthy collecting money for such events can be (there was documentary on that, many fans take extra job, or go into credit cards debt, pressure from other fans to donate more, etc. it’s honestly toxic) and that the other idols decline expensive gifts and asks for charity donation instead. And it’s not like, he is in dire financial need when he blow so much money (rumored 10k) on stupid Halloween costume, smh.
