I wonder, in no particular order:
1. He heard her talk (about fangirling) while sleeping, got curious, got closer then felt asleep.
2. He was cold and wanted some warmth. Or he was too hot and rolled away from his blanket.
3. He moves a lot while sleeping.
4. He wanted to watch her sleep, got closer, but felt asleep that way.
5. He just likes to snuggle with her and would even hold her hand of he could… (see episode 6).
6. Show/writer just wanted us to squeal but didn’t want to come up with a good explanation.
😅 #2 is most likely but it’s quite far though. there’s floor in between. If it were me, I’d either rolled over her, steal her blanket or remain in my blanket.

If I was a person who squealed – that would have been the perfect time. Instead my toes curled from the sweetness….

I vote #2 (He was cold and wanted some warmth.) because low temperature doesn’t got along with sleep.
