When you realize that you haven’t watched a single new drama episode in over a month and you’ve only genuinely enjoyed like 2 dramas in almost a year.

I’m not sure I can call this a slump anymore. This is something more serious.

I just have no interest in dramas at the moment.

Is all hope gone, Beanies? Am I done with dramas?

I’m done with certain types of stories – which makes me done with the majority of dramas. And yeah, I’m not watching any of the currently airing stuff.

But – I did watch a whole heap of Drama Specials (after @gadis‘ post) and feel refreshed.

Drama special (or in my case variety show) is a good choice when drama slump hit. Hopefully you’ll find your crack drama again, mindy.

You can try watching movies. It’s shorter and less time consuming.

I just returned to kdramaland, so I’m still okay with dramas. I do notice the repetitive plots, the similar tropes, traumas, conflicts etc… I might be bored soon though..the amount of current dramas I dropped or not watched is more than the ones I actually completed. The past year I genuinely enjoyed about 2-3 dramas only, if I thoroughly enjoy a drama my wall will be full of it 😅.

My faves Shin Sung Rok and Jung Kyung Ho have upcoming dramas so I’m mostly excited for them. I’ll try to tune in and hopefully enjoy their new dramas~

I feel your pain. Dramas just don’t hold the same attraction as they used to. I only pick up a few and I drop more than I finish. I think I finished 2 dramas in the last 6 months. It depresses me, but by maybe taking a break will help to reignite the flame down the road.

When I get into a drama slump, I find it helpful to switch countries, going from Korean Dramas to Chinese Dramas, etc.

I also find that this helps me! But if you’re not in the drama mood, that’s fine. As long as you have other things that are keeping you interested and happy (music, books, hobbies, US shows *gasp*, etc.). Hopefully, a good drama will come along to spark your interest though!

You’re fine, don’t worry! I was just telling outofthisworld on OT that I love dramas, but even if I’m free, it depends on whether I’m in drama-watching mood. I can go months just feeling like reading books or watching variety shows but not going anywhere near a drama. Sometimes I go for web dramas instead.

But eventually I’ll be in full-length drama-watching mood again (like the past month) and be back with 3 dramas on my plate.
