EXTREME JOB (2019): the most successful Korean comedy of all time, is getting the Hollywood remake. https://www.slashfilm.com/extreme-job-remake-kevin-hart/
Those first minutes I laughed so hard! Slightly idiotic Gong Myoung is a nice surprise.
*sigh*
Hollywood will never learn. Ever.
I’m not planning on watching the remake. This is very Korean in every way and that’s why I enjoyed it. I don’t want anything more or less.
Not just that it is Korean. Every export HW touches turns out to be less than or absolute garbage.
The closet one that did not have me banging my head against a wall is The Magnificent Seven. And I am being kind on that end.
It can go both ways but HW often miss terribly imo.
I thought INTERNAL AFFAIRS was ok but still prefer the original with Andy Lau.
The Departed was pretty good…but that is about it. I never saw it as the masterpiece others did.
