@manohira‘s lament about Chinese heartthrobs playing with babies of course reminds me of DiDi.

As you know, I find excuses to post Dylan wang gifs.😅

MG Beanies, have you watched “Ever Night”? I am slowly making my way through and really liking it. The romance for the OTP develops very slowly despite the 60 episodes so hopefully it won’t feel too jarring with the ML change.

I’ve been seeing little bts clips from Twitter. Dylan has been working really hard doing the action scenes. They recently wrapped up filming and it looks like he had a great time with the cast! I’m excited to see him as Ning Que’s for season 2.

I didn’t know DiDi is going to be in Season 2!

I tried an episode of Season 1 but it didn’t really hooked it. I don’t have much patience so I need to get hooked fast if I got to sit through 60 eps! It is not just about being slow paced. The OTP in Ming Lan didn’t come together till many eps later but the show was still interesting from the start.

It does take quite a few episodes for Ever Night to get the plot moving mostly I think is because that there are so many characters in many different locales with an epic setting that I still find myself confused even at episode 10 (I am now on 20.)

There are some really original aspects of story telling and the world building is quite successful. The choreography for the fight scenes is innovative, the sound track ambitious, and cinematography breathtaking. The OTP dynamic also feels original. It is not yet gripping for me, but I think it is mostly due my current obsession, @outofthisworld! 😭😭😭

I remember when I tried to start it and ep 1 wasn’t that interesting. A few months later, I tried it again and stuck with it. As Noona said, there’s a lot of characters they introduce in the beginning but don’t worry, you’ll figure them out later. To me it felt like the story finally begins at episode 6. I couldn’t really stop after that.

Cinematography is great. The show spent the budget on location rather than on the costumes. The story is different. My mom actually watched it without much FF and said she enjoyed it too. You can’t really guess what’s going to happen next and that’s another reason why I liked it.

Female lead, Shan Shan is feisty and I love the character. Can’t believe she’s 25 when she looks 15 there!

        Hope you get hooked soon!

OMG i’m logging in after a month, and seeing this. Did you get through all the episodes?! Ever Night is easily my favorite drama I’ve watched this year. Loved Arthun Chen and Song Yiren so much, but especially Arthur, which makes me really sad about Season 2.

Maybe a writer of chinese dramas is around and this will give them an idea for their next show.

You should watch the Cvariety show “Where Are We Going, Dad??” (yes, it’s based off of the original Korean one), but Season 5…. Deng Lun with 小山竹 (a.k.a. Little Mangosteen) is LIFE
