Unsurprisingly, @hotcocoagirl was delightful and we had a lot of fun talking kdramas.
Here are the evening’s highlights:
Best moment: Introducing Coco to the culinary delight that is Kimchi pancakes
Not surprising moment: forgetting to take a photo of the food until @hotcocoagirl said the word ‘picture’ and that reminded me. So yes, there was (even) more food to begin with
Most embarrassing moment saying kamsahamnida to our waitress and her not understanding me. Made only slightly less embarrassing when it turned out she didn’t speak Korean at all (apart from annyeonghaseyo which she’d said to me when I arrived). Turned kinda sweet when she said it back to us when we paid the bill. And yes, I am amused by the fact that the US/UK combo taught the Thai waitress in the Korean restaurant a word in Korean. That’s the true global power of kdrama. Plus, I think that being able to say that will come in handy, so we did something useful.
Most secretive moment : the eagle-eyed amongst you might have spotted that there are three plates. There may or may not have been a third person there. That may or may not have been Coco’s sister. As the two of them are potentially plotting a take-over of their place of work, which will only work if nobody knows they’re sisters, it would be wrong of me to talk about Coco’s sister.

I want to so badly, but London’s scary!
I am planning on going up some time in the summer, though, to desensitise myself a little.

Let me know when you do! We can have a London meetup.
Or even meet in the London outskirts to make it less scary. It doesn’t have to be in the centre
