I was bout to say the same! I watched the OG UK version, I become more and more admire the Korean PD and the production after watching this episode.
The plot is exactly the same but they can make it into a very Korean version. IIRC the story inspired by hostage situation happened in Korea in the 1980s. Then you get those little details that is very kdrama. In the og version the villain shot a car outside, in this version they shot a kimchi jar.
Life on Mars is the best remake ever.
